I'm don't understand your frustration.  I can drag a 3rd FX into the pro-channel (FX chain), and then assign controls so that it can be controlled directly from the PC without having to open the FX.  It is a great integration of 3rd party FX into the PC?  No?

Sorry I must have accidentally wandered into the wrong house. :) You are all correct I obviously overlooked the way to add an FX chain to Pro-Channel, which wasn't there in X1. At least it's doable now, but certainly not as easily viewable as other DAW's. Could we agree that maybe other DAWs display FX chains a bit easier than this, though? What about non-Producer X2? Stuck with the tiny FX window? I can't say that's totally a win for me, but I do admit I was hasty about the FX chain in ProChannel. It's hard not to sound sarcastic at this point, but I assure you, I'm not sarcastic. As for the faders, just look at Reaper's, which would have totally rocked in X2. I'd love to have the Strips be more flexible like that. Yeah, I can hear subtle differences like Wookie, too, but man, I'd love larger faders at least. btw, Wookie, this surprises me that someone would jump to a conclusion about my username without first asking the true source of that name, then go on to praise those who research, experiment, or read the manual in an attempt to discount my own efforts in public. I can be critical of a product, but I don't think I would be critical of another user like that. Your first response was way better and quite humorous.

@brconflict: If my supposition was incorrect then please accept my most sincere apologies.

Unfortunately if you frequent this forum, i.e. the SONAR X1 and X2 Producer, Studio & Essential, then you will be well aware of those soulless beings normally found hiding under bridges, afraid of sunlight, only emerging to exact some level of physical and mental distress, that frequently appear bemoaning the faults of SONAR compared this and that other DAW product.  Then you will understand my honest mistake.

Please then enlighten us to the origins of you username, mine? I was given it when Star Wars was first released because an acquaintance of mine decided that I resembled Chewbacca with my then mane of wild red hair and full beard.  Time has however taken its time and subsequently I am more shade of white then red.  (Does that mean I can have blond moments now?)

Again my apologies if you are offended and yes you have the right to constructively criticise.

No worries. I'm one of those under the bridge folks sometimes, especially when driving home overnight from a show. Whew! My first name is Brian and the Conflict comes from an old punk band I've been in since 1996 (so obviously, combining the two and namesaking like the Ramones did). But it's also a bit political and suggests that there are many conflicts in the world we know, but then there's the ones we never see. So, anyway, that aside, No hard feelings. But Thanks! :) Seriously, though, it was my dumb luck that I mentioned something like the FX chain in ProChannel for X2 (I just didn't find it immediately) but having mentioned it long ago for X1, only to find out that it DOES exist in ProChannel for X2, even if it requires a bit more work. I was originally turned away from the ProChannel when I had to keep its settings in a different place from my 3rd party plugins, but I do wish that X2 would somehow marry the two FX chain sections into one and allow the size of the fader and FX chain (when ProChannel isn't showing) so that you could stretch the mixer to see all of them much like what you'd see in ProTools or Reaper. Maybe it would be a bit of work, but I believe that would be a win for many. :)

Don't know if this relates to your wish list, but in console view, you can scroll the pro channel to see what's happening if you have a lot of plug-ins inserted.

As to the faders, there's nothing like a control surface with long-throw faders   Meanwhile, if you hold down the shift key while moving the fader, it essentially triples the mouse resolution. For example if dragging the mouse 1" moves the fader from full up to full down, with shift pressed it will take 3".

Wookies can be silver backs, too, ya big ape! If the Rolling Stones are still called 'rockers' than you can still be a Wookie.
