I agree. The manual kind of sucks. However right clicking the wire does indeed work. Thank you. Also I notice there is a Breverb module. Is it possible this is a full version Breverb unit? Perhaps it could be used in the FX bin so people can avoid paying the upgrade for Breverb. I doubt it... and if it IS capable of working that way I'm sure my mentioning might be frowned upon by the powers that be but maybe ya'll could benefit from it so I thought I'd bring it up. ;-)

No, it is not full BREVERB. It uses some of BREVERB tech in the reverb effects. More like code sharing and a chance to market another product to TH2 users. There is a full instrument list on their website http://www.overloud.com/products/th2_model.php I pulled it down, did a litte reformatting and added it to the documentation.

Heh... I figured. It was worth a shot. Would you say it's the same as Breverb Producer or something different? I've never been much of a reverb guy so I have a lot to learn in that department as I'm now realizing how important it is in a production setting. You'll likely never hear any noticeable reverb in my recordings but I'm starting to use it to subtly make things sound a little more "real". Cheers.

I have not played with it enough to say.

Haa haa! There ya go! I knew you couldn't stay away my friend

So, I assume you're happy with it? I've been placing it in all the songs for my next album projects and it works so well!

I think the breverb module is not like any other Breverb thingy. I had a brief and unscientifical side by side comparisment between the two and they sound different. The one in TH2 sounds more guitar oriented than the X2 version, which makes sense.

As for the manual, yes, it could be better. But I really like that TH2 is more or less self explanatory. It's very logical in use so I don't think I'll need it much.

Anyway, I hope you (and I) (and everyone else) will get many good hours out of this thing

It was one of those things that needed to happen. GR5 is great and all but the TH2 Producer version was just getting me far closer to what I want and instead of attempting to try to combine the two to get access to the extra effects in GR (like phasers, chorus, compressor, etc...) I figured this would be a worthwhile purchase. I'm not gonna say I'm disappointed with the Randall heads because they are pretty accurate as far as Randall stuff goes (and I used a Randall head extensively VIA a buddy who I shared gear with but I always set it to clean and applied my own effects) but I just never really dug their distortion tone. I've always found them too "crackly" and the distortion breaks apart when you crank it up. That's personal taste though. I will find use for them somewhere I'm sure but like I said I am REALLY digging the Overloud Custom (which is included in the Producer version).

I mentioned it in a previous thread that I think the sim manufacturers should not necessarily abandon trying to model existing amps but really they have so much power at their disposal to create NEW tones with their knowledge and skill that I think they could have far more success pleasing the studio guitarists starting from scratch. I feel Overloud has done a great job in this department but obviously the traditionalists will always want to hear the brand names invoked.

I only played with it briefly and although it didn't have the WOW factor I anticipated as I went through all the presets (and I noodled with every single one that was apparent but for some reason I think I'm missing some trick to access more... but that's another discussion) I found that almost every single one was quite interesting and with tweaking will be usable. I'm curious as to whether Overloud will release new presets or allow users to create and share their own. I find it odd that there are slots for 999 factory presets but less than 20% of that capacity is used. I for one would contribute to a pool of presets if given the proper environment and motivation to do so.

All in all I think this is going to be super cool and I can't wait to have more time to mess around with it all. However for now with my current project I'm actually going to stick with using what's available in the producer version because it did kind of start of with the intent of showcasing what it is capable of and it is on it's own a VERY impressive sim. I'm understanding a little better what people were saying when they mentioned that TH2 full version wasn't necessarily BETTER than the Producer version but just a lot MORE of it. I think it's actually quite laudable that they did it this way because it gives people an extremely useful tool as opposed to just dangling a carrot in front of everyones faces in hopes for more sales which, in my opinion, is what happened with the Sonar version of Guitar Rig.

Long story short... if you are guitar player this is probably gonna be something you want to snag tonight because who the heck knows when it's going to go on sale again and the full version is EXPENSIVE. Remember Overloud is likely controlling the price on this stuff and they seem to be a relative new company in the Sonar fold so anticipating them to behave like Native Instruments or Cakewalk is probably not advisable. I also think that this product is becoming so successful (and for good reason) that they may not really need to put on special prices because people will likely be willing to pay for it.

Just my thoughts on the matter. Cheers all.

I agree with you, it would be interesting to hear what they could do if the makers of Amp Sims started to think new. I also worry that it would suck! Or that the world isn't quite ready yet But who knows? Until they try we won't know.

Having said that, the creation of good amp sims are providing something new to the scene in my opinnion. I see many players take their lap tops on stage to have a myriad of new and interesting sounds. It's another tool. You still have to learn how to play

The full version of TH2 is pretty much the same as the X2 one - except it has MUCH more stuff in it! I have been looking to upgrade for a while. I've been using Guitar Rig and Amplitube up until now but although they are great, they are geting messy to navigate. I find that I just tweak some preset and when I'm bored with that I just leave it at that. I've hade some great miles with it though. Amplitube on the other hand, that new thing - I hate it. Sounds good but I don't like the changes in the presets thingy.

TH2 presets? I haven't even thought of checking them out in the full version. I've made a few dozen presets of my own since I installed it. I just got right into tweaking it and saving as I went a long. Not to keen on the preset management in TH2 but it's a small niggle when it's that easy to design tones in it. I agree about the Randall, though. Not the best out there IMO but I'm sure I'll find some use for it. If not, it's not like it's taking up space

I am happy with the upgrade.

I picked it up and only installed the VST version. I also grabbed the Breverb full. I noticed that I could use the same account to validate both Serial Numbers which was nice.

Do you think there's a significant advantage to installing more than just the VST version?

I thought you had to install the Standalone version as well? I installed that and the VST. The other plugin formates doesn't apply to me since I don't use Pro Tools. If you have that you'd probably want to install the AAX and er... that third plug in format which name escapes me

But as long as it works then I suppose not
