I personally think the GUI in general is kind of silly but I see why people like it. It would be nice though if there was an alternate view mode where all the modules were stacked and collapse-able for easier navigation. The preset set is kind of confusing as well but the sounds are so good it's very easy to overlook that.

One thing I will definitively say though is that the tuner is far inferior to GRs. It just doesn't tune properly. I used it for most of my project but ended up pulling out my Boss TU-2 instead because the tuner was WAY off.

But again those things are easily forgivable for the simple fact it just sounds so good and they are more window dressing than anything. Cheers.

Yeah... I'm not sure what you are referring to gswitz. I didn't see any option to install one or the other.

I love that you can replace that silly floor background. That is ugly! I have some nice red colour back ground now. "Bordeaux" it's called so it must be wine red. Much easier on the eye. I haven't tried the tuner. The tuner in GR4 is pretty good and I really like it. Will check it out. I have a tuner built into my MOTU and I tend to use that. But I prefer my real life, plastic moulded Korg tuner. It has more charm

I did the custom install and unchecked the full program and the pro tools stuff. I just installed the VST folder in my cakewalk vst folder with a slightly different name than the Producer one that comes with.

Now, when I look in FX, I see
TH2-64
TH2 Producer - 64
Breverb 2-64
Breverb 2 Cakewalk - 64

Seems to be working ok.

I have an old Korg D8 (I think D8). Love that thing. I hate the clip on tuners. Batteries die too fast. I did use the GR tuner at times.

You can insert it in the FX bin and it pops up? Usually you have to install the Standalone Program as well. Come to think of it, I do seem to recall that I could choose not to install it. But I've seen that elsewhere as well. I dunno, I'm no expert. If it works then it's all good.

However, if you're going to use TH2 outside a DAW or VST host, eg to use live, then you'll have to install the Standalone version. If not, then I guess you're good to go

It popped up and had me enter the serial number. Seems to be working.

It would be kinda cool to set up the footswitch for the alpha track to switch through different TH2 Amps etc. Wouldn't it? Could that work? Might take an afternoon's effort, but it would be cool. I'm not sure why doing live work outside of Sonar would be better, especially if sonar enabled me to use midi devices to automate the plug-in.

Ah... Custom install. Makes sense now. And TH2 has a MIDI learn function. There's a vid on youtube describing it. Essential if you have a MIDI footboard you can map whatever you want in TH2 (as far as I've seen). It's likely more stable using the standalone for that. I may be misinterpreting your post though. Cheers.

It was one of those things that needed to happen. GR5 is great and all but the TH2 Producer version was just getting me far closer to what I want and instead of attempting to try to combine the two to get access to the extra effects in GR (like phasers, chorus, compressor, etc...) I figured this would be a worthwhile purchase. I'm not gonna say I'm disappointed with the Randall heads because they are pretty accurate as far as Randall stuff goes (and I used a Randall head extensively VIA a buddy who I shared gear with but I always set it to clean and applied my own effects) but I just never really dug their distortion tone. I've always found them too "crackly" and the distortion breaks apart when you crank it up. That's personal taste though. I will find use for them somewhere I'm sure but like I said I am REALLY digging the Overloud Custom (which is included in the Producer version).

I only played with it briefly and although it didn't have the WOW factor I anticipated as I went through all the presets (and I noodled with every single one that was apparent but for some reason I think I'm missing some trick to access more... but that's another discussion) I found that almost every single one was quite interesting and with tweaking will be usable. I'm curious as to whether Overloud will release new presets or allow users to create and share their own. I find it odd that there are slots for 999 factory presets but less than 20% of that capacity is used. I for one would contribute to a pool of presets if given the proper environment and motivation to do so.

I agree. I don't understand why they would have 999 factory presets and only use a small part of that. I am thankful they have 999 User presets. I don't really use the ones made by Overloud. I make my own presets. I also agree that some of the best heads are in the cakewalk pro version. The lynch head is a collection of amps and you can select the version from within the head. There is a distortion amp in there that is the Dokken tone and sound of George Lynch. That head with the digital delay sounds incredible.
