Hi Guys n Gals, Would like some opinions on this mix please. Any EQ suggestions welcome. Its a pretty chilled out song i guess. I have also attempted (lamely i expect :)... ) to do a quick mastering job. :/

While I am certainly no expert, I think this sounds quite good. Bass is very well behaved, and the vocals have centerstage. I hear some mouth noises between a few phrases that you could gate out if you wanted, but they aren't that distracting.
 
Really like the song as well, well done.

Immediately like the melody and vocals.  Great song and simple arrangement.  Harmonies are nice.  I hear some Beach Boys and Pink Floyd in it.  
For the mix, all is good.  The overall EQ could be improved with tweeking some highs.   Please do an A/B comparison to this:

You may hear some clarity in the top end that could help your mastering.  Love your work.

Thanks Rimshot, I love that beach boys song and can certainly hear the sheen that the vocals have compared to mine. How to achieve it is the question. :)

Try killing (highpss) somewhere around ~300HZ on the vox buss.

Seems to me there is often a a lack of bass guitar on the 3 with the kick during the verses.
 
Personal preference I'm sure.

I had it highpassed to 180, 300 seems to really clear things up, thanks. :)
 
re the bass, I can only afford to pay myself for one note every bar in the verses. i spent most of the budget on the middle 8 ;)

Listening through headphones, I hear that the music coming out for the left speaker to be louder than the right, If you could get the balance there then I feel this would sound even more awesome than it already does :)

I like it...   I definitely hear some classic era Floyd in there, and perhaps a bit of Flying Colors.  And the harmonies are very nice. 
 
I do agree with Gus though - musically the mix seems a bit focused on the left.
