  • Playing in LOOP mode goes out of sync...

Over the 1st run all tracks are in sync. As the song plays over and over in loop mode the MIDI tracks start falling out of sync, some actually play ahead of the rest while others start missing or transposing notes making the song sound weird.

Eventually all MIDI goes silent leaving only the audio tracks playing.

Latency issue?

Depends on the plugin. if you're looping with plug fx such as reverb and delay that audio info builds up over time afaik and clogs the system.  In preferences/audio/configuration file try setting dropout msec higher and increasing extra plugin bufs.

Thanks, didn't know about that. Will give it a try. Freezing evrything may work too then. I know a bit about freezing things. I had fun with it last week. Ever change a flat at -20F? Yea, I live iin the "real" world... and would love to move anytime!

Have that some problem, others have too last time I posted about it.

Tracks get progressively out of sync as a looped section plays over,  a little while later it's a total mess on short loops.

Stop and start again and it starts in sync, then goes slowly out of sync again.

This shouldn't happen with Plugin delay compensation in a modern DAW, sure doesn't happen in any other DAW I've used.

The other thing you need to look at is whether or not you have hyperthreading and turbo boost enabled on your computer.  If you do, it dynamically changes the cpu clock rate based on load.  The cpu clock rate in most instances determines midi clock rate.  These small changes over milliseconds will lead to out of sync looping - as the clock rate is fluctuating.  Disable hyperthreading and turbo boost and see if that helps.

So far your 1st idea is working. I doubled those settings so we'll see for how long...

Thanks,

I noticed this too a lot this weekend.  Quite annoying when running an 8 bar loop while trying to get a balance.  Seems to be worse on X2 than it was in 8.5 on the same machine.

Just make sure your loops are an EXACT number of measures before you start looping.

This can cause problems

Could be since I end the loop at half measure. I'll try it full measure.

I have noticed it's megatons worse when I run WDM instead of ASIO. Have to use WDM on the road presently but that may change with dollars. $$$
