Its a long story, but my hard-drive was just recovered from the "blue screen of death." It was a nightmare, but I found a tech who was able to save all of my files and data and place them on a new drive.
 
The old drive had Windows Vista, the new one has Windows-7 64-bit.
 
I re-installed my Sonar 6, set up the Native Instruments Audio Kontol 1, got Guitar Rig 5 up and running and fired up the studio.
 
All of my Cakewalk plugins are gone.
 
And now the audio stops every time I pluck one note on my guitar. Playback of my old song ideas is no problem, the audio is there and working. Except for the plugin issue, of course.
 
But recording is impossible.
 
I've spent the last week combing the forum here for help, and this place is the best.
 
But nothing seems to work yet. Where should I start?
 
And where did my plugins go?! I miss those guys!!! 

Is that SONAR 6 or SONAR Home Studio 6?
What audio interface are you using? Is that the Audio Kontrol thing? Or is it the stock computer sound card?
Many older Cakewalk programs used DX synths and effects. Those won't work on a 64-bit computer. Can you name a few of them?
The program itself may not be compatible with Win 7 and/or 64-bit operating systems.
The dropouts are almost always caused by the audio drivers. Have you tried changing the Driver Mode in or buffers SONAR 6?

Its a SONAR Home Studio 6 6XL. Some examples of my missing plugins: Cakewalk Compressor Gate, Cakewalk HF Exciter (my favorite vocal tool), and there used to be a good reverb, too.

I'll try your driver suggestions. Do I start by scrolling down from "Options" then pick "Audio," then the window that opens is labled "Audio Options-WDM/KS," and it has all the tabs to go to: General, Advanced, Drivers, Driver Profile?

The 64-bit issue issue might be the problem, I guess. Should I just move on and upgrade?

I installed the 32-bit version of SHS 6 on my Win 7 64-bit computer because another user of that same program suggested that is how to keep using the DX stuff. It seemed to work okay, but this isn't my music computer.
If 32-bit, try right-clicking the SHS 6 icon and select Troubleshoot Compatibility. Windows will then try to set it up in a mode that will work.

You don't have to uninstall the 64-bit SHS; just put them both on it.

It worked! Genius advice, bro, thanks for the help. All my old plugins are back and showing in the 32-bit format of Sonar 6.
