  • Why is X2 selecting clips I am nowhere NEAR selecting? (p.3)

Yeah, that certainly sounds like a selection issue. I'm just gonna toss another tidbit out there that I'm using a Kensington trackball that requires drivers. Mayhaps has something to do with the drivers?

I haven't started one, convinced it was a loose screw between the chair and the keyboard (me).

When you posted, it gave me confidence to speak up about what I have experienced.

Also, I just mixed my first larger project that required me to scroll the track view (I'm a hobbiest). I recorded 8 Tracks of audio last Friday in a friend's garage and have been mixing since...

I have lots of busses, so busses plus trax means scrolling.

Anyway... I'm just gonna rethink this project and not try to be too fancy with my comping. I just had some nicer sections of specific takes I was trying to use but if this is gonna be happening I'm gonna just stay with the full takes and hope for the best. If anyone else is having this issue let's get this reported for the first patch because if it is a bug it has got to go. If it is some weird workflow "enhancement" that's eluding us it would be good to have it in the forums collective brain trust for others encountering it. Cheers.

I actually had a feature request in mind a couple months ago about being able to disable scroll wheel parameters. I hate it when I'm scrolling through the PC or the console and the cursor hooks into a knob or fader and adjusts it when I don't want it to. But that's an entirely different topic. Cheers.

For me, it might be the identical topic as the scroll wheel disable. I'm not sure there has been any issue that wasn't related to the scroll wheel for me, except thinking I was modifying one track when I was modifying another (this was user error). So... :-) I'm really pretty happy.

One small thing... Sometimes the little bouncing line on the Sonitus compressor doesn't bounce on the line and it makes me wonder if it's working. I get very confused when the user interface stops performing as I expect. I abandoned attempts to use side chain compressors twice in my current project ( but again... probably user error ). I could get the thing to bounce when in the FX bin and not using side chain, but when in the Pro Channel in the FX Chain it didn't work as I expected it to.

I think this only applies to the console but it might work elsewhere. There is a feature where you can make your console strip settings remember a specific position and if they get screwed up you can double click them and they will reset to that value (like how it will reset to the default value of 0.0 on a fader naturally). It's a little tedious because you have to do it for EVERYTHING but here it is...

Set your control then... Right Click > Value > Set Snap To Current

Then if something wacky happens you can just double click it and it will go back to where it was. Cheers.

Oh ok! That's cool. Never knew that one.

I've just been saving the Pro Channels.

I record the whole night then bounce each track.

I save evolutions of the pro channel settings for each track and bus.

Then I can always restore. to that track as I mixed it.

It's a cool trick that was buried in the talented Mr Garrigus' X1 Power. I made sure to write it down in the little notebook that lives beside my DAW. I wonder when X2 Power is coming out.

Anyway, I think I'm too kerflustered to continue on with this project tonight and I know it's the weekend so most folks aren't around but if anyone else is having selection issues or has some insight please post. This is a real show stopper. Cheers.

Oh and, Bill I hope I didn't scare you off. This is not a complaint thread. Just hoping to get this sorted. You rock dude and the function you detailed will be getting used to help keep things moving. I just don't think that's the final answer to what's happening here. I've got the final instance where the weird "hollow wave" thing happened saved so if it comes down to it I can drop box it to the Bakers. I know the hollow wave is some kind of special mute but I can't remember where I read it or what it's specific function is. Cheers.
