This is somewhat soul-ish... I tried to do a bit more vocally, and the music was REALLY fun to put together. Enjoy!

That's pretty cool, how did you treat that kick to make it sound like that? I think I hear some parts (low mid) contending for the same frequence as the vocal? You may could automate an EQ cut in there? (on the Oh oh oh) part, but there's always the possibility that anything I say could be wrong (especially mix wise ;-)

The intro is interesting and strong....as is the first part...I would like to hear the vox thicken up when it comes back in at :55....also I think te mix overall its a bit "tizzy" and I would like to hear some more bottom end for weighting this tune down.

Nice work!!

Remembering that I do have furry alien ears it sounds like all the middle has been sucked out, lots of fizzy top end.

Just my furry 2 pence.

I would worry about getting the mix right before slamming any processing on the master bus.  Get the whole thing sounding balanced across the sound spectrum, then look at what you can do to bring that extra thing you are looking for.  That master buss processing is to add the last bit of wow, to apply the LP to tailor the bottom for the expected listening medium, add some air to the whole mix.  It is not there to fix the mix.

I'm gonna definitely revisit this one. I have to say I DON'T dislike the choruses, they sound like I want em to, but the verse have far less punch than I want.I'm probably gonna kick up the bass and, to an extent that sounds acceptable, dip the highs.
AND rerecord that TERRIBLE sounding guitar! ugh I think that was really my biggest recording challenge in this song, I suck so badly at guitar and I had this tone in mind and i just don't have the guitar chops to pull it off!
Thanks for the feedback so far, guys, this project introduced to heavy use of some rather 'new' techniques like the heavy kick side chaining as well as singing rather 'differently'. I'll keep hammering this one out, it's 80% baked ;)

Good stuff David, sounds fresh and contemporary to me - bearing in mind I'm an old git - I like the arrangement, lots of nice instrumental details, and the bass line is excellent.

thanks for checking it, james. Got to bust out more of a 'real bass' sound on this one so that was tons of fun. Glad you like it! Though I still am refining the total mix, haha
