Yes I see the list of templates the sub menus and everything like I did in x1. I can't load my custom templates or the stock templates. I can hear my computer loading samples or the like when I insert an instrument template and then nothing happens no tracks.

Hit H to see if somehow the track is not being displayed. H will bring up the track manager.

I use track templates all the time. They work from right clicking a track or dragging from the browser.

The one thing I did have to do was... go to Cakewalk Content and copy my X1 track templates to the X2 track template directory. Had to do that for fxchains and prochannel presets as well if I wanted the X1 content available in X2. Otherwise, works fine...

If you are talking Project Templates them you need to load those from the File Menu. I don't think you are, but just to be sure...

I have not used templates of any kind much. I did see if I could load one, a track template, and it loaded. The only other suggestion I have is check if the path to them is correct and that there are templates located at the end of the path.

I hope that you report back that all is working.

I actually did that too John Thanks again. I think I'm going to have to do a re-install and see if that fixes the problem. to musicroom, I did both copied the files to the x2 defaults and then switched back to point x2 to use the x1 folders to no avail. I'll probably be reinstalling soon. Unless someone comes up with a solution. I can't remember but I think this used work for me in x2. I use them all the time so I'm sure I would have caught this much earlier than now. I don't know if I mentioned this goes for new and old projects.

I have the same problem. Importing Track Template does nothing.
Only clue I can mention is that I changed track templates path in preferences. In Track View context menu "Import track template" goes to the customized folder but Browser keeps on opening the default path. Stil no templates from either location work.
My workaround is to import track templates in X1 and make tracks manually.

funny you showed up panup I was going over in my mind what did I do differently and when and then it came to me. I tried out duckbar briefly about a week ago and found it corrupted some things so i uninstalled immediately. After putting things back together i didn't believe I had any more problems until this. And I was also just about to look and see if darkside was available for x2.

I just got done re-installing and it did not fix the problem. Now I think this is going to turn into at least 2 weeks worth of reinstalling everything from scratch. But I did want to wait until windows 8 came out before i did that.

Frank,

When you look in the cakewalk content folder do you see any of your templates?
