Are your guitar tracks mono or stereo?

If they're mono, what you're doing makes no sense

If they're stereo you can pan them where you want using Channel Tools

Hi, Jonesey. Not sure what you mean. The tracks are indeed mono. I'm sending them to the busses so I can pan them away from the center of the stereo field (track pan is centered, the two busses are panned left and right). I've been told quite a few times I should be doing that to keep the center clear for the bass and kick. It seems to be working but I've just started messing with it. Could you elaborate? Cheers.
