one thing I didn't see mentioned is that you cannot seem to have lanes open for multiple tracks at the same time (unless I am missing something).  Today I was trying to align some audio waveforms in two tracks, both if which had multiple takes in lanes.  Guess what, when I open the lanes in the clips I want to move, the lanes collapse on the other track so I can't see the warmform I am trying to move TO!

This is so the screen does not look cluttered.

Yes... that is quite annoying. I know when I want to have lanes shown in multiple tracks. It should not close the lanes automatically. Is there a setting somewhere to stop that from happening? If not that would be one point where lanes have a a far superior advantage.

In the interim I would suggest selecting your clips and then copy/pasting them into the new track using the original time feature or whatever it's called.

In the interim I suggest NOT using X2 for important stuff until we get some fixes for these types of design oversights.

You most certainly can have multiple lanes open at once. I would suggest that you may well have autotrack zoom turned on that will by default automatically zoom on the in focus track and collapse the others, thus hiding the lanes that are in fact still open, just in a collapsed track.

Turn that off by pressing Shift + Z or deselecting it from the Track view---->view  menu.

I guess it's all relevant...   I've opened X1 just one time since installing X2, and have had no desire or need to do so since.

@FBB... Ah yes. That'd do it. Thanks.

I think the lanes are closing when you change the focus to a new track because you have auto zoom enabled.
