And, what about possibly looking at buffer size?

Bob Bone
Bob's right. You should check your Midi Buffer size (minimum of 500ms when you have a lot of midi going on). I know your problem is fixed, but maybe it's just because you spread some midi data out so your midi buffers could then handle the quick changes. To prevent problems in the future, do check your midi buffers. I think the default is 250.

Best,
Rob
LOL I notice your running the same system outside of the Hard Drives.  As stubborn as HPs, Dells, etc... are, mine has been good to me so far throughout all the upgrades, updates, patches, etc... since Sonar 8.0

Looking forward to jumping to X2 or 3, Which ever I do when the time comes

Memory is certainly friendly to audio processing.  I use 32 GB and haven't a care in the world.

Bob, my 8gb board is soooo jealous. After reading your post it may go 'on strike' ;-)

Believe it or not, Im looking forward to when all the program/software updates require me to build a new system.

Ive had this Dell for a few years and it keeps going along great.  If the 16GB upgrade will make it hold up a lot longer great. Im figuring a couple more years anyway or until 128bit programs are out

Im not big on out of the box specials like HP and Dell for stuff like this but this one has surprised me.

Good thing I didn't mention the 512 GB solid state drive, the multiple 2 TB SATA 6.0 gbs drives, or the liquid cooling then.  Bwa Ha Ha!

Pity I don't know what I am doing, though....

Nice setup-Yeh I read your signature.  Someday when the time requires it, I hope I can put something comparable for times together

I do get OCD about the little things and something like that, everything is a little thing LOL

Truthfully, 32 GB was not needed - I just knew I had ONE chance to build the best computer available,so I took it.

I was at one of those post-wife, pre-relationship moments that just don't come around that often.

I think I will call my system the Binford 2000, in honor of Tim Allen's caveman humor.

Yeah, I've been pretty lucky with Dells.  My last two I've called Dell and "Custom built" my machines based off of their base systems.  Good bang for the buck. You just have to make sure you disconnect from the internet, disable all the automatic updates and turn off all the third party start ups.  This combined with 8gigs of ram (I'm upgrading to 16 shortly) has given me a pretty sweet experience with Windows 7 and X2 all 64 bit. X2 makes even better use of the 4 cores.

By the way, the midi buffers setting is in the Preferences/Midi section.  If you have dropout issues using Session Drummer in the future... check there.

Best,
Rob
