Are you using it on tracks? How does it sound? Is it transparent? Is it helping to keep tracks from peaking when summing to mix? How many db's are you trying to reduce? Do you recommend it?

All serious/helpful replies welcome.

I love the CL.

I use it on tacks, buses and the master - not on all of them all the time, obviously.

It sounds great.  Amount of db reduction varies.  Around 3 seems t be nice for gentle work, more if I want to push it.  I've used it on most things.  Drums  sound fantastic, as does bass.  Even used it on 12 string acoustic with great results.  Don't tend to use it on vocals, preferring PC76 followed by PC2A.

Yes, I'd highly recommend it.

I think it's excellent, quite possibly the best Pro Channel Module they've created in my humble opinion.

Since I got it, it's the only limiter I use anywhere in my mixes.

Not using it on tracks. I used Ozone 5 for all of my mastering chores until I got CL. I do use CL sometimes now as my mastering tool. It is very low in CPU usage and has a character that is very musical. I like the bass boost feature for those occasions when the tracks are a little anemic and need that little low end boost. It is probably one of the more useable plugs that the Bakers came up with. I have done projects with just the plugs that came in Sonar. The results have been surprisingly good! If they had made CL available earlier I probably would have saved the money I spent on Ozone. Although, I still find uses for Ozone, it is pretty cpu intensive. I got the CL when it was $10! Best money I spent. It is worth far more as far as bang for the buck! Bottom Line: Worth the full price hands down!

I concur with all the replies in this thread. Its the most used module I have.

I have them all.

I use it all the time as well, mainly on buses. Not normally on the master bus for music projects, I have Ozone 4 and the Waves L1 & L2 to choose from. But I use it on the master bus for all my broadcast work. It was one of those "it's about freakin' time" plug-ins for me when it came out.

Forgot to mention the bass button.  I tend to use it on bass and drums and it beefs them up nicely.

I'd also highly recommend the PC2A.

Thanks - great opinions.

As always, I am a sucker for Cakewalk stuff. I just wish it would go back on sale.  :(
