Personally it worked for me.

Thanks for sharing.

I think it's very good!
The only thing I would suggest is to introduce another (any) instrument before the 1 minute mark.
I say this because knowing it's not a real orchestra (from this post), I was imagining you playing it on keyboard and how you were getting such nice articulation on the strings etc. Maybe that's just because I try to compose this type music too though.
Once the flute came in I thought ...oh ...soundtrack... and from there found it to be very convincing (I'd be curious as to what you're using besides LA Strings if you don't mind sharing).
One more thing, maybe it's just me but I find myself tilting my head like a dog would at 03:14...maybe it's intended but the cello or bass sounds off.
Overall I'd say it's excellent for a first attempt though Bibs!

A very well written piece.  I personally was expecting something a LITTLE more dynamic, but I can't argue the very touching and sweet sentiment I sensed throughout.  It certainly fit.  A fun idea; scoring your own music over scenes that you enjoy watching...

Well done.

Wow... that was very well done.   Having seen the movie a few times (kids = Disney/Pixar) I think it fits very well.

I do agree with Randy though regarding the first minute or so.  For me it sounded much like chords playing a string library, as good as the library sounds.   Once other parts kicked in it seemed more about the individual orchestral parts coming together... more fluidity.    Perhaps you could include a few transition lines between those opening chords?

Impressive work. Since I don't compose this style I feel unqualified to comment in depth.... however, my only nit was the beginning full chords with strings seemed a bit "too heavy" for the start. I'm thinking single notes as opposed to full chords..... bring the full chords in on the "painting the mailbox" scene....

Loved it and I stayed glued to the music and video to the end. The musical  breaks and pauses are in the right places.

Like I said..... very impressive job you did.

I did music set to a film? Unfortunately, it was a film over my teeth... The doctor said it was gingivitis, but I said "Doc, I'm a vodka man..."

Thanks for your comments guys. I agree that maybe there should be more colour in the first part. Taking the melody from the violins to the violas was maybe a bit too subtle. I like the idea of just the melody alone to begin with.
Thanks again, your comments and ideas really help.

(ps whens the avatar pic upload gonna start working again, im bored with my christmas tree sunglasses)

Very nice and very moving! I thought it fit the video quite well.
