Two beeps on boot for a Dell bios is typically "ram not found." Try opening the case, removing and cleaning the contacts of the ram sticks and re-seating them. Some Dell machines at least have built in diagnostics that can confirm or clarify the beep codes, which are designed to give you a hint in the event that the machine will not boot at all.

I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the RAM. I replaced my old RAM last year and went to 12. I'll do as you suggest and thanks for the links!!!!
