I'm not sure, is there some some types of loops you cant just click and drag to create a fade but others you cant??? Why can I do it sometimes and other times it wont let me do it?

I'm using sonar ver.2017.10.
Sometimes the groove clips is fading without doing anithing. It is similar to this problem.
So I'm very troubled.

Can either of you give an example of a loop that comes with SONAR where this happens?

Note that Groove Clips don’t follow all the rules of standard WAV files. Here are some things you can’t do:

  • Although you can create a Region FX, that turns the Groove Clip into standard audio and discards the looping properties
  • Transpose audio via Process > Transpose
  • Show transients or open the AudioSnap palette
  • Convert to mono or stereo
  • Fit to time

If you can identify a loop that shows the problem behaviour you are talking about others can try to duplicate the problem you are having. Ideally both - one that works properly and one that won't.

Im going to take a wild guess that the title just may say it all "softsynth groove clip".
A softsynth is a Midi track. you can not fade a midi track (using the end of the clip fade).
You must first convert it to an audio track or use automation (there is another way using a controller).

Midi clips are data and not wave form thus need to be treated differently than Audio clips.
Is this what your talking about Paul ?
