During the process of installing Digital Sound Factory Symphonic Strings, I continue to get a message that this program can't find Dimension Pro 1.5 and that I need to install it.  Dimension Pro 1.5 is installed and registered. I click "Okay," but the message just keeps popping up. Have disable/remove it with task manager.

Anyone got any ideas??

Thanks much,
Sam

Slightly Obvious question but I suppose you have dim pro installed or have you authorised dim pro?

and are you running the installer as administrator?

Thanks, Wookiee for the response.

Yes, I do have Dim Pro installed and registered and authorized. I also run as administrator. Any other ideas?

Hey - I don't know if you are in the US or not, but can you try giving the tech support folks a call on this?

They have been pretty helpful to me on things like this.

You may also submit a bug ticket to them - think that would take longer to get a response, though.

I seem to remember some folks having some error messages popping up during expansion pack install for Dim Pro, but I thought that they fired up Dim Pro anyways and seemed to have found the expansion pack like it was supposed to be.  Don't know the specifics, and don't know if it is the same sort of thing you have trouble with.

Doubt it would help, but maybe worth downloading the expansion pack and installing?  Or perhaps re-installing Dim Pro and then trying the expansion pack again?  Just grasping here, but no tech support until Monday so I thought it maybe worth a try.

Hope this gets resolved for you,

Just curious - what version of Dim Pro? Also, can you please attach your system specs - hardware and software - to your forum signature?  That may help for this and any future issues you post on the forum.

Sorry - just saw the 1.5 in the original post.  Still nice to get your system specs, though.

Just to be clear, you are running the DSF installer as administrator (Right-click, Run-As-Administrator)?

Not sure but just throwing stuff out there.
I had Dim Pro 1.5 installed and registered since X1.
When I installed X2 it asked for the registration code again. I looked in my Cakewalk download list and noticed that the Registration code for Dim Pro 1.5 that comes with X2 has a different code then the existing one.
Maybe you need to be sure that you're version is registered with the X2 code.

Not sure why that would matter since they're both Dim Pro 1.5 but maybe the Strings are looking at the older install?

Dim Pro 1.5 did not change whatsoever for X2.

Yeah... it seems as though the DP delivered with X2 is a separate entry from the one in X1.  Same with Rapture for anyone that already has it.
