  • Archiving verses Freezing

I searched on this but didn't find anything.
 
What is the difference between archiving and freezing? I froze a couple of audio tracks and hid them but they still play. Tracks don't play when archived.

That's one of the differences. Tracks don't play when archived. They also don't take up any CPU resources.

Freezing also saves on CPU resources by converting to audio and turning off fx and synths. But the track still plays.

Archiving is for saving tracks you may need later but you don't want interfering with the project.
