Hey - Alegria, I thought that too, but his most recent post indicated he gets no sound on playback either, so something else is going on.

That's why I went ahead and posted some hopefully easy to follow projects for him to create a new project, with Input Echo on, to see what happens - I am trying still to get a sense of how he has it all set up, and just thought having him start over on a new project per a recipe might help me to figure out what he has set incorrectly,

, but how do I get the insturment in Dim Pro to the track.  I tried to drag-and-drop, but nothing happens.  I have also cliked on Dim Pro in the browser, but dont see any sounds listed.  Sorry to be such a pain with this, but I'm trying to move forward, but with much frustration.  I have the Sonar x2 complete 9hr video and have watched it, but still not able to get past this.

Which tutorial or manual has given you the impression that you need to drag something from Dim Pro UI to the track?? I just can't imagine such a tutorial!! You simply pick the sounds inside Dim Pros user interface. Dim Pro IS the instrument and it already is in your  Synth Rack in SONAR, right, you just need to pick the sound it's playing.

Using drum soft synths you drag the MIDI loops onto the track, but in Dim Pros (and most soft synths) you play/input the MIDI data on the MIDI-track yourself, via staff view, piano roll or with a MIDI-keyboard..

Seriously: You should start reading our answers and answer the questions we ask, otherwise we'll never get anywhere. Please, finally, tell clearly:How have you inserted Dim Pro in SONAR? What is routed where?

I'm starting to suspect you're using it in standalone mode (if there is such a possibility).

+1 on all of the above (except the stand-alone part - only because I really really hope not)

Mr original poster - you have been asked at least a couple of times about your track assignments and such, but have not responded with that information.

If you wish assistance, but do not respond to questions put forth by the people you have asked for assistance, then you will likely find folks quickly dropping out of the thread.

I am looking for you to create a NEW project, following the steps as I outlined in my earlier post, and then after you ACTUALLY try it out, I want and expect you to post the results.

Someone else had asked about buffer size, and someone else I think asked about something else.

If you want help, you need to read AND respond to posts in the thread, PARTICULARLY those that ask specific questions.

OK. I finally have sound when playing. Now, I need to get sound when recording. I'll keep plugging through this and let you all know how I'm doing. At least I can here the sound I loaded from Dim Pro.

Thank you all for your help. I am able to record midi using Dim Pro. I appreciate your detailed instructions Bob, which were a great help. It was a lot simpler than I thought. Thank you all for being so patient with me. I really appreciate it! Ken

That's GREAT news for 2 reasons.

1.  You got it working
2.  Now you know how to do it every time

Now get back to work on that tune! :)
