  • X1 scroll lock not working for me

I have scroll lock enabled but is rarely seems to work.  As playback reaches near the edge of the screen it jumps to the next screen of audio.  I'm left clicking on a clip before hitting play.  Am I misunderstanding the manual?  What is meant bo "object"  is a clip not an object?

When the Left Click Locks Scroll option is enabled (default behavior), the Clips pane will not scroll
if you click any object in the Clips pane. When you are done with the edit and want the Clips pane to
scroll again during playback, click in the background of the Clips pane to clear auto scroll lock.

Everything below my question was intended to be in quotes.

Scroll lock is the key that stops the now time from following along with the song. X1/X2 has an added editing function that lets one click on a clip or track and the now time will stop. This is so you can do your editing and than when done just right click at the top of the time line to have the now time move with the song.

Thanks,

I did a "scoll lock" search before posting but missed the other similar thread somehow.  I'll move to that one.

I experienced this exact problem yesterday.  I had left-click-locks-scroll enabled and a note selected in the inline piano roll.  Had zero effect.  Is there another factor that I'm missing?

This is in X2, by the way, not X1 like the OP reports.

Also, has anyone seen the mouse cursor completed disappear?  I was doing much MIDI note rearranging in the inline piano roll and at one point the cursor totally vanished.  I had to stop and restart Sonar to get it back (where it did not disappear for the rest of the day).

Just to be clear on the how the left click locks scroll works. The playback needs to be rolling when the left click takes place and that left click needs to select data.

Data selected prior to starting playback won't lock scroll and neither will left clicking without selecting. i.e. left clicking in the track view or PRV background won't work.

If it's not working under those circumstances then something is amiss but it works here as expected.

I haven't tried this on my desktop yet, haven't used it in forever. But totally impossible to do on my HP laptop. It has no Scroll Lock key so I remapped it to the media Play/Pause key.

It works but I have to hit the Play/Pause key each time to stop and start the scrolling. Selecting and clicking in the windows does nothing for me. Kinda makes the feature unuseable in my case.

Steve it may have a scroll lock using the FN key with another key. Most PC keyboards have this key for Microsoft compatibility. They do not have to be a single dedicated key.

It may but I have not been able to find any written information on this model anywhere about key assignments.

Most of them are labeled on the keys so if it was there it should say so I would think.

Anyway, I've assigned another key for it but either it's cancelling X2's mouse clicking scroll feature or X2 is misbehaving.

Update: Scrolling is now working for me mouse wise after I played with the TV Click behavior a bit.

Try FN + Break or Pause.  I have a Logiteck Illuminated keyboard and it has no labeled scroll lock key but I still have scroll lock using that combination.
