I imported some audio files into x1 & saved the project & now they are missing & can't be found. I may have deleted the original files I imported but they still should have been saved in sonar. Am i missing something? Thanks.

Using Sonar 32 bit I assume?
X1 A/B/C or D?

Do you have per project audio folders set?

If you only deleted the originals, from Windows presumably? then your imports should still be there.

Also for fun upgrade to X1D if you haven't already.

Thanks - I did have the upgrade. I deleted the originals but the imports are missing from my project. Is this my error or does it happen sometimes?

Under Preferences->File->Audio Data is a check box for "Always copy Imported Audio". I believe if it is checked then the actual audio file is copied to your audio directory and if it's not then just a pointer is set up to the file in it's original location. I don't know if the default setting is on or off. I checked and I have it enabled in both X1 and X2.

Hopefully it's in your audio folder....

Thanks tk. I had it unchecked because I thought it wd double the number of wav files I'm storing. Is that true? Anyway I checked it now.

ps - Most of my projects are from an old Cake daw (not Sonar) that i open or import into sonar. I keep the old project as well so if I understand correctly, the old project wd be my backup.? The lost files i posted about were not in the old project.
