Can anyone tell me if Cakewalk Sound Center runs properly in Sonar X1 ? I’m running the 64 bit of X1 on Windows Vista 64, and when I insert Sound Center into a project I get a few pops and crackles out of Sound Center before it freezes. Oddly when I run it on a 32 bit version of X1 it seems more stable. Am I missing any patches or is this 32 bit software just not stable on the 64 bit version of X1. I have the X1d patch for Sonar already installed.

you need to give more details.. sounds a lot more like an issue with your soundcard rather than sound center..
you are using a soundcard that isn't the onboard ? and what mode ?
if it's asio , try upping the buffers..

tricky to say, as lack of details don't help.

yeah... mine is rock solid but I have a rock solid sound card too.....

I'm thinking it would be your soundcard, the drivers used, and the settings on latency as well as buffers.

That's really odd for it to work in 32bit land and not in 64....

I also have Vista (32bit) and never had any problems with Sound Center. Sorry, I don't have a solution.....hopefully someone else will chime in.

Guys .. thanks for the quick response. Let me fill in the system information and give some more details I am using the ASIO drivers with my Tascam external sound card. It was set to normal latency, and this gave a latency round trip of 29.5 msec ( according to the ASIO panel ). I have changed to the highest latency setting ( which is not where I would choose to be ) and now have a round trip of 75 msec. Sound Center is a little more stable, but still freezes, particularly when I use any of the transport buttons ( the pause or the stop button ) I would also say that my other Soft synths ( Dimension LE etc ) aren’t giving me any problems. Can you offer any further advice ? System details Sonar X1 ( with patch 1d), Roland APRO 300 Sound Card : Tascam US-144 MkII, driver 1.14 Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit Intel Core Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16 GHz, 4GB RAM,
