I'm not sure i'd expect to hear a compressor on ultra distorted guitars. Isn't that sort of sound already highly compressed?
I tried sharke's suggestion of turning the volume right down and A/B'ing. Works really well to hear the effect on vocals and acoustic guitar.

Cheers, Peter.

Heh. Yeah I get the light as possible compression philosophy but usually when you reef on the knobbies you get some drastic results which I wasn't on the tracks which I found odd especially on the ultra distorted guitars. This is a scorching metal song so hearing the compression a bit is somewhat desirable (IMO). Like I said when I tossed it on the master it was very noticeable and turning it up really tightened everything up so it definitely works.

However that's not exactly why I bought it but I don't have any acoustic/vocal tracks to play with yet. That'll come after this bleeping metal song is finished (only got the outro solo left and I've got a theme mapped out... just need to record a good take of it.)

The lines indicate you've quoted. To remove them highlight the text (in edit mode) then use the outdent tool in the tool bar. (Just right of the justify text tools).

The indent tool can be used in the same way to quote text.

Here I am trying to save money. Sheesh!!

This is actually perfect timing as I have been trying to use the Antress Modern LA-2A clone aka Lost Angel. It's the only comp that works on a vocal I'm working on (everything else sounds really harsh and fatiguing as it's a terribly recorded vocal). But it's making X2 crash so I can't use it. But now I have this instead which should be much more stable!!!! And hopefully even better sounding!

I installed it and see a folder in my cakewalk folder but don't see it in vst plugins. I probably need to read up on how to use and find a pro channel device if it is different.

I agree, in my experience it's fantastic on acoustic guitars.

You will need to run a VST scan though even for pc modules. Another thought, the PC modules don't show with regular VSTs. They can only be loaded via right clicking in the Prochannel.
