Hi everyone,

Somehow, after practicing with automation envelopes, I no longer can drag or drag copy clips in Sonar X2's track view. I inserted a volume automation envelope in a track of a project and after playing with the envelope shape I closed that project and opened a different one. In the 2nd project I tried to drag copy a clip and the drag action is ignored. I am not sure if the issue is related at all with automation. Sonar is in SmartGrid (SnapTo) mode. Any suggestions are deeply appreciated. Thanks,

Sounds to me like the edit filter might be on "Automation". Change it to clips. It's found in the track header or probably easier by pressing T which will show the HUD.

Do you have the smart tool selected? Press F5 or select it from the tool menu.

Have you locked the clip? There should be a padlock in the corner if you have but you can double check by selecting a clip and pressing shift + I which will open the clip inspector where you can see the lock status.

Have you closed and restarted Sonar? That can sometimes fix the occasional quirky behaviour.

Yes, the smart tool is selected. The Clip's Lock field is set to Off. I've restarted Sonar a few times and the behavior remains. BTW, this feature was working before.

I'm a bit stumped. Can you let us know the steps you are taking and what you expect to happen so I can fully understand where you are clicking in the clip etc.
 
To move a clip in X2 you'll need to click in the clip header at the top of a clip.
 
Is it all clips on all tracks in all projects?

I've been doing this since I got X2. I left-click on the clip's header and drag to move the clip or ctrl-drag to copy it. Yes, I can open different projects and the behavior is the same. I am stumped too. Thanks.

Does the clip respond at all to a left click? ie. does it become selected?
