This sounds like Jefferson Starship meet CSNY and then all have a party with Hendrix. Really enjoyed it. Personally, I would use different drums, but that is a personal thing.

Great job Bat!  It sounds great in my ATH M50's cranked up.  Love all of it.  Bottom is tight.

thanks man..... and yes, great subject matter!
LOL
laptop speakers, again, i can't imagine wanting to listen to anything over laptop speakers.
how can it sound anything better than a clock radio?
i'm serious now, i'm not pulling your leg, why not stick a set of headphones in the output at least,
i've just never heard anything off of a laptop that sounded anything but crap!!
heheh
ok, just do me a favor, promise you'll download it and crank it thru your studio monitors at mach schnell volume,
and see if it still sounds like a decent production!!
thanks terry.....

rikkie,
just for clarity...
i did not post the new mix, this is still the same mix you listened to before.
maybe there is a lesson it there somewhere...........

scotty
that pickup, is the pickup that rikkie was talking about, not mine...
but mine came from that lineage of pickup design......
my trem bar? it just pops in,
but i add plumber's tape around the end of the bar, that snugs it up real nice.

stevee
starship, meets csny and jam on hendrix.
hehehe, i'll take all of that!
drums, is always subjective, it'd be like putting stewart copeland's "walking on the moon' kit sound on 'when the levee breaks'.
just add hall reverb.
LOL

ha! thanks man.....

basically, the rhythms and solos on the first half were done in multiple passes,
but the 2nd half is all one take from beginning to end.
so, it IS live!

thanks for listening....

just as a followup to my FIRST post....

after moving my gear, i decided it wasn't enough,

and I don't really have any money for any gear right now...

but i've been wanting to change out my little KRK rokits for a while..
i've had them a long time, and know them pretty well.. but need a new perspective.

and i have material for a 3rd album, that i want to final mix on, so figured now is a good time to learn some new monitors.

on sale, everywhere right now....

so cheap, i figured, why not?
18 months no finance charge, 14 bucks a month, 30 day return policy....

I always enjoy hearing your creations.  It inspires me to be a better player.  Great job on the transition.

I heard lots of influences in the music throughout.

Nice guitar.  You mentioned that you used the neck PU for the second half....  good choice. I have always been partial to the fatter sound I get on the neck PU on my SG....and now on the tele I have. I've never been into the twang that comes naturally from the bridge PU's.  Cranked, and with proper tone settings, the neck PU is my favorite.

Again... nice work there

thanks for that, GH....
i've changed the transition up a bit since i mixed this one....
i dropped the drums out, added a sparkly guitar-noise waterfall sound with 4 double tracked parts, and that bridges the breakdown into the bluesy part....

that neck pickup, just sounds really good on this particular guitar

it is a Wilde L-280 model, and honestly, as good as it sounds, i've thought about just going back to a single coil just like it, at the bridge..

but then, i'll do the more hard rock stuff with the same guitar and the bridge, and THAT sounds real honest too!
LOL

so, i'll stick with the original intent, which was to have a schizophrenic guitar.
