Hi folks new to Sonar, second time poster. My problem is when I have Garritan Personal Orchestra 4 loaded. A fair few times now after playing back some midi, the mod parameter gets turned to zero and I can hardly hear the instument, I turn it back then say 10 mins same again. It's like Sonar has a mind of it's own.

If anyone can help me thanks in advance.

You must have something in one of your Midi tracks doing this - Sonar won't do it unless told to.

I'd check your Event List for all tracks and see if you can find it, then delete it (them)

Hi - welcome to the Sonar community :)

I did a quick Google search for your issue here, and I found a link to a forum article posted by someone else that addresses this issue.  I had suspected this to be the cause of the problem for you, and the other post confirms this.

Here is that link: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2143482&mpage=1&print=true

Give that a shot and let me know if you are still having problems with thisw,

Sorry - took a second for my brain to process something.

In the link in my earlier response, it points to where to set the reset option for an older version of Sonar.

To change this behavior in X2, do this:

Go to Edit>Preferences (or just hit the letter 'P' on your keyboard), then click on Playback and Recording under the PROJECT section.  You will see the parameter 'Zero Controllers When Play Stops' checked by default.  You will want to remove the check for this, then click on Apply at the bottom.

Note - this is a 'Per Project' setting, which means it is picking up its initial value on project creation by using the value as it is set in the Project Template that you choose when you create any new projects.  SO, if you want to ALWAYS have the behavior of Sonar to be where it keeps this parameter turned off (no check in the box) for ALL new projects, then you have to edit whatever Project Templates you plan on using.

So, if you use the 'Normal' project template when creating your projects, you would need to edit the Normal project template (creating a project with the existing Normal template) and then after applying the change overwrite the original Normal project template so that your change applies to ALL future projects.

If that is what you are wanting to do, then just post back and I will walk you through doing that.

But for now, give the above a try for the current project you are working on, and make sure that works for you - THEN you can decide whether or not to make that a global change.

Thank you very much Bob. I have changed it nowand resaved my template.

This also explains why my abbey road drums plays up. Once or twice a minute a random drum would trigger.  Its like Sonar is trying to communicate with me at times it was cute and other times possesed by the devil himself
