In track view type H that will bring up the track manager. Make sure all check boxes for tracks are checked. If that doesn't work then sorry... same thing happened to me with X1 a couple of months ago. Sonar crashed and all my audio files were deleted from the project audio folder. hasn't happened since, but still....

You need multiple backups and versions of all your projects!!   I've had projects get corrupted in properly licensed versions of daws.

Truth: This does not happen very often when your stuff is properly paid for.  But it does happen.  And I can count on 1 hand the amount of times its happened to me..

Actually this very thing happened to me a few weeks ago, with something I was doing in Renoise...   "save number 24," or whatever, didn't open..  Something had totally gone bonkers with that particular file...  I had to go back to, "save number 23."

You've got to save.  You need a system for saving.  Learn the automatic back up features, have a proper file system for versioning...

Do you think I trust my hard disk, or do you think at this point I've got accounts at icloud, 4share, box, etc, etc..  I'm not going to name all the clouds I'm using, but you can believe I've got enough free acounts to cover several gigabytes of backups...

Well, it happened. The unthinkable. The horrible. The "It could never happen to me" happened.  All of my tracks, all of
them just disappeared from track view. That great searing lead line that I put down last Thursday, gone. That wonderful
syncopated synth line from last week, gone too. All my drum programming, the clever Bass line that added so much, all
gone. How could this happen to me. All the hours and hours tweaking and refining, all gone now. Sonar X2, where did we go wrong??

I know, I'll take complete responsibility for it.  It's all my fault. My fault for believing in you Sonar. My fault for thinking
Sonar could compete with all the other DAW's out there. Does this happen to Pro Tools users? Does this happen to
Cubase users? Something tells me I had better find out.

I promise myself I will never let this this happen to me again. I'm through with you my dear. I want a divorce. This is
unacceptable. This is where I draw the line. It is time for me to DUMP SONAR.  Your behavior Sonar is so unprofessional.
If you want to play in the big leagues Sonar, then you must perform worthy of that stature. You are a phony Sonar. You
deny yourself greatness by your results and your results stink. You have sunk so low that you have even lost me.

Dear Sonar, I can't change you, I can only change me. So that is where I stand. My last stand. Goodbye.

FOr whatever the worth, as disc space is so cheap these days,

Every day, prior to beginning any DAW work, I manually copy my entire projects folder to another location on a different internal drive in my system.  I do this while I go make coffee or eat something.  I keep 1 prior version - so on my system, I carry the active projects folder, and essentially 2 copies of yesterday's projects folder.

I also have a 2 Terabyte external USB 3.0 drive, and that is set to backup automatically every Sunday evening, during football games.

I often also have several active collaborative projects uploaded to one of my web sites.  I use those for shooting projects around the universe to other muscians.  I just set up FTP users and folders for whomever I am dealing with, so a lot of things are there too.

I sleep REALLY well at night.

Ah, the power of backups.

I've just had a project go bad on me - and I mean BAD!

It won't open in Safe Mode, Normal Mode, 32-bit, 64-bit, not even X1.

But I had a recent backup which needed the fewest of adjustments to get me back to my happy place with it.

I might send the dump log of to Cake, just to see if they can work out what happened.
