Updated mix posted @ 10:58PM PST to address glitch Bub found @ 4:15 in the song and to tame the Hats per Jonbouy's observation. Thanks guys.

Just listened to it ... it's still there.

It must be my ears or this crappy laptop I'm listening on.

Hey Bub, thanks for your observation mate, I can confirm that you are quite correct. I checked back on the waveforms in my original tracking project to see if I'd trimmed off too close to the start of those harmony parts. I hadn't but it got me thinking as to what might have caused it.

My best guess is that I recorded those parts through a noise gate and, in trying to eliminate any string noise caused by my chubby little fingers in such a quiet passage, I'd set the threshold too high to open the gate. In fact, having just checked, the settings are so high it's actually stopping the initial attack on the string - hence the note just appears to start from nothing.

I'll get Ed a couple of new stem to mix in asap.

And many thanks to everyone else for your kind words and suggestions

Bub,

It seems I misunderstood your 4:15 reference. You are speaking about "after" 4:15 the final guitar figure, right? Well at exactly 4:15 I had a glitch in the same guitar track where the clip got split and shifted right by a "visual" hairline. That is what I fixed.

Apparently Steve has found what you are talking about and will be giving me a re-track of that final figure.

I'm developing Bapu-A-Gog. So far I got Am working. Should I carry on?

Did Jonboy "play the drums?" as in "a kit?" on this? Or is it midi?

Hi Robby,

It's midi but it's kind of a hybrid method I use as the groove is just played out as straight notes (8th's in this case) so I can get the feel right with the tune as far as dynamics and timing goes.  Then I will tend to choose some midi clips and 'groove' them to the midi I've played out to get the structure down.  I'll just play some breaks and cymbal hits on the keyboard if it needs them at the end an then just tidy up.

The longest part to do is getting a convincing kit sound together to suit the material, here as it was an 80's style ballad I just needed that epic snare and a little too much gate on the toms and kick.

Basically this was a simple job as it's you that's supposed to take pride of place which you did and then some.
