Alright - reluctantly being fair, here is some doggie haiku:

I love my master;
Thus I perfume myself with
This long-rotten squirrel.

Today I sniffed
Many dog behinds-I celebrate
By kissing your face.

I sound the alarm!
Paper boy-come to kill us all-
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!

I'd like to see the effects bins stay. I'm particularly happy that I can now insert multiple instances of it anywhere in the PC chain (supposedly... I haven't tried it yet) . I appreciate the effort put into put into giving us parameter knobbies and the like that fit right in the PC but I don't think I'll be using them much. I like having my little box with little blue text where I know I can just pop open what I want when I need to and have a quick bypass of multiple effects or whatever in a little compact space. Mapping out parameters I barely understand as it is to something else that doesn't truly represent what's going on will only screw me up. Seems like that kind of thing is best left to folks who actually know what they are doing.

Neat feature though and for simpler stuff I might try to use it but I like looking at full GUIs or having them collapsed as small as possible when not in use.

And more of a general statement I'm still lovin' the X2 workflow after using it almost daily for a week or so of tracking now. So much simpler.

I've had a couple of weird random crashes and there certainly are quirks but I haven't installed the Quick Fix yet (yes I know I am procrastinating but there aren't any show stoppers) but they have all been very minor and I haven;t even thought for a second that I missed X1.

Very very nice software and I'm glad I didn't pizzle around and wait to install it like I intended.

I think for the future, the fxbin needs to be reworked into the prochannel with all of the pc modules having the option to save individual presets. Even as I type that, I'm not sure I like that idea 100%. But lately, I have been saving prochannel presets that include fx chains. But to err on the side of being thorough, I'm also saving those key settings as track templates and fx chains. That gives me 3 different ways to get to most of the key settings. I have to say in this case, I would rather be limited. (did I really just say that?) :)

X2 is far more stable for me than X1 ever was, but there are some annoying glitches when you try to edit clips etc.

Also, e.g., the peak marker numbers don't show correctly on tracks.

So it's a mixed bag so far.

Thank you Bob. I really appreciate your opinion. Let the music play!
In reply to Bob Bone Piangio - that's GREAT news on you getting past your earlier set of issues!!! GREAT STUFF there.
Oh, I also just listened to a couple of your tracks on soundclick - VERY nice piano work. I am also a keyboard player, and appreciated your left hand movement under the right-handed arpeggiations. Very pretty. Bob Bone

Hi,
Since the 308 patch,Iv'e not had a single crash yet,and I'm certainly noticing that the CPU power is more optimized with X2,as projects that were taking X1 to my laptops limit, are now able to be played smooth now.

I'm starting to use the Pro Channel plugs more now[especially saving my own presets],even though I just spent up big, since Waves went x64 & did away with that nasty iLock, which brings me to the point about "FX bins",please DO NOT do away with them,as having both,is a fantastic way to have multiple options, with Effects.

I have to agree somewhat with Danny, about assigning knobs, within FX chains,I just find it easier,to see the actual plugin GUI for adjustment, though having multiple FX taking up a much smaller space, obviously has enormous potential,I just haven't delved that deeply into it yet, however there is a new Pro Channel preset, with R-Mix,in an FX chain, which is good starting place to get into it.

Auto zoom is great, and I'm finding myself using Breverb[stock included version]way more than "perfect space",though they are completely different, but Breverb is just so nice, its hard not to over use it,and the console Emulation, while a great thing to be included[how many other brands do that?]is something I find has to be used A LOT[I made some PC presets with x2 x3 x5 x7 for both Channels and Busses],to see/hear a lot of difference, but that is the point though isn't it,to add a "hair" of difference, that a certain console may add?

I couldn't be more pleased with X2,especially for the incredibly low upgrade price, though I did invest heavily in X1,by first buying Studio[boxed].then Producer[boxed],as our internet here, was not trustworthy enough, for the large downloads back then,so I was extra relieved to find the upgrade cost low,and then be amazed with all the new goodies, that came with it,yes I must say X2 is a winner so far!
Cheers
Bob

I'm happy. I had a couple crashes when I first tried X2, which gave me a bad first impression. However, since then, it has been working great. I like X2. For me it was money well spent.
