I use loops constantly. Although I've been playing guitar for over 40 years there are much better players than me out there, and of course all sorts of other instruments I don't play. Loops have opened up a whole new world and allowed me to produce professional sounding tracks relatively quickly. The thought that I should close off those possibilities because of some misguided notion (in actual fact, an ego trip) that using loops makes me less of a musician is just ridiculous. I have no qualms about using every tool available to me.

@tbosco... Yeah, I know. I actually made my first song with Sonar using loops just to get a hang of some of the workflow stuff. I'm a flesh and nail guy though so until I start getting some clients requesting I do loop based work most of that stuff would be used for ambiance at most... unless I start going all Skinny Puppy on stuff but I'd probably source my own samples for that. Who knows though. I'm a fickle creature and maybe I'll get sick of endlessly tracking live instruments. It is nice to know it's there if I want. Cheers.
