funny how we all have our own perspectives on these things,i myself love console emulation, its very suttle,so suttle you dont eve know its on unless you compare a mix with/without it.

im defintly not hearing distortion/fuzz though.
i hear warmth and almost an analog presence.

but like i said,we all need a head check,we have 5 different stories going on here.
i dont think its the plug ins thats gearing the op all up in arms.its the fact the pc effects are not actual vsts that show up in the plugin manager.

now im only guessing but i beleive cakewalk has an upperhand when it comes to these effects.

The tube emulator I find to be quite good, although it takes a lot of tweaking and experimentation to find the ideal level. The saturation knob I only find useful with the dial at 9 o'clock or less, especially on drums.

I find that if the source is already a little distorted, it tends to exaggerate that distortion.

Maybe I’m too cynical but… if you could use Pro CHANNELS modules as normal VST plugins, then you could use then in any DAW that complied with VST standards.

I thought the concept of Pro CHANNELS modules (at least in part) is a cleaver-marketing strategy to keep us locked in to cake’s X2,X3,X4…………

But as I said, Maybe I’m too cynical

It does do that which is obviously an issue for some but the PC's biggest advantage by far is that the UI automatically follows track selection. No longer do I have to put up with tens (hundreds?) of VST GUIs cluttering up my workspace, and never able to find the one I actually want to use.

YMMV of course.

Yes! I totally agree FBB, personally I think PC is awesome, my only regret is I can’t place some of my other favourite plugs in to it like sonitus fx suite so I could do away with the FX bin altogether. I was just saying "market strategies" and all

If you have X2 you can now place any VST into the PC. Just drag it into it and it'll get placed in as an FX chain, albeit with just the one VST. You can then either open the VST interface or assign some of the controls to the FX chain GUI knobs/buttons.

The FX bin has effectively been made redundant.

There are still problems using the new Pro Channel  insert called  "ProChannel FX Chains".
ACT or any hardware controlsurface doesn't work with any plugins inserted in the new "ProChannel FX Chains"?
A real bummer if you ask me.

Please add that feature ASAP, thank you.
