Hi - I got X1 a few months ago, haven't used it much yet having used earlier versions of Sonar for years. There must be something really simple wrong, but I can't hear the metronome, audio or midi. All the settings are correct, its outputting to the same channel that I can hear the audio from, its set on... is there any crazy little thing that someone's forgotten to mention?

Are you up to date on patches? X1D is the latest. I believe there were some issues with the audio metronome in earlier versions.

I'm on X1C (build 319). Will update now though.

It hasn't made any difference.

It could be the metronome buss...Is it muted, or turned down?

I thought that might be the case, but I've got no idea how to find it, if I'm in a template that doesn't have one (like a project loaded from an earlier version of Sonar).

You can see what buss the metronome is output to via the metronome preferences. Right click on one of metronome buttons to access those.

Sorry, not sure I understand. I know in some templates there is a Metronome Track - that's what I can't find, or don't know how to get to. The Metronome is set to output on channels 1/2, though, same as my audio. That's on the master, which isn't muted, because I can hear the audio. I did try sending the Metronome to a bus, but then still couldn't hear it.

It's a metronome buss which is similar to a track.

If it doesn't already exist you can create one by using the "insert stereo buss" option found by right clicking in the buss pane. Shift+B shows or hides that (in the track View)

Call it metronome and make sure its output is assigned to your interface main outs.

You can then go to Preferences-->Project--->Metronome and make sure that the metronome is assigned a sound and also outputs to the metronome buss you've just created.

Yes that's what I've done. Nothing. No level indicator in the Metronome bus.
