I'm just wondering how long it normally takes for automatically generated problem reports take to be addressed, or even looked at by the CW support team.

I put five in well over a week ago now and I've just been to check on them and their "Status" is still "Awaiting Review."

Product: SONAR X2 Producer
Version: 19.0.0.308 x64
Status: Awaiting Review
Summary: New Report from Crash Reporter
Description: Hmmm... This time all I did was open the project, let it play for a minute, stopped the project, saved it. Tried to re-open it and it crashed before it could open. Each time I open the project in Safe Mode the Multidock window is empty and will not maximise. Each time I save the project the Console view is always present in the Multidock. It is only happening with this particular project. regards andy

Well I know for a fact that there are later reports being looked at while mine are still "awaiting for review."

As it happens, the crashes above were as a result of looking into the problems that another member was having, so it was not just me having the above issues. I've just tried looking for that original post but it is lost under all the other posts since then.

Very often crashes are duplicated in the system with other reports. So they all get addressed at one time. We are working on the next update right now so any recurring common crash issues will be looked at in time. Bugs are very rarely addressed in sequential order of them being logged so its pretty normal.

Okay Noel, thanks for the info.

I eventually found the other posts about this, back on page 11

You mention "next update" Noel. That sounds interesting. I suppose that is all you can say on the matter at the moment ;-)

We're working on a pretty big update which will include Win8 support/features as well as a roll up of many fixes and other enhancements. So getting clear reports of any problems to us ASAP makes it more likely they will be addressed.

Every problem report I've ever submitted eventually fell into a black hole called "submitted to development".

In my (non-musical) world, problem reports get closed with specific resolutions, e.g. "fixed in build xxx" or even "permanent restriction". This does not seem to be the practice at CW.

I have no complaints about CW support in general. It would just be nice to be able to follow up on bug reports.

my favourite is "status changed" but i'd love to see a proper registered-users bug tracking system, i'm sure it would save a bunch of gnarl

My problem report status is "Awaiting Reply" I don't know what that means. I haven't received any messages or emails from Cakewalk to reply to.
