I saw the post about Kerovee and so I downloaded it. I saw that you can route midi to it but how do you do it?

Thanks

Insert a MIDI track and set the Kerovee as the output. You have to do a VST scan and tell it where the dll file for Kerovee is before that will work.

I am feeling really stupid so pretend you are talking to a 2 year old :-)

I inserted a midi track but kerovee is not an option for outputs. I did do a VST scan (preferences->VST Settings->Scan VST Folders). I also told it to re-scan existing plugins.

I can add kerovee as an effect on an audio track but I do not have the option for setting the output of a midi track to kerovee.

Thanks

I'm trying to figure out why. If its for automation look to ACT for that. Its an audio VST for tuning and transposing audio. But if you must have it show MIDI inputs you must load it as a synth.

Have you inserted the VST (kerovee) into the project? It won't be available as an output from a midi track until it's been explicitly added/inserted to the project.

My understanding is that it can use MIDI to control the output. It is quite possible I have completely misunderstood.

This is what it says on the website:
How to Install&Use

- Just place KeroVee.dll to your plugins directry.
- Insert KeroVee to audio track.
- Route the MIDI signal to KeroVee if you want to use the 'TuneTo MIDI' function.

It is the last bullet I am trying to figure out how to do. Like I said, maybe I am misunderstanding something.

Thanks

I'll take a look at this right after the Nationals game - maybe 20-25 minutes.

By insert the VST into the project, does that mean adding it as an effect on an audio track? If so, then yes. If not, then no, but I don't know what this means.

Thanks

Sorry - I ran out of brain tonight.  I will look at this for you first thing in the morning.

Here is a video called "Sonar X1 - MIDI for beginners" that explains how to do just that and more.
