  • How do you route midi to a vst? (p.3)

OK, now I warned you that you had to talk slow to me lol

Just to make sure, after all I have tried, this is what I have...
- Create a new project
- Add an audio track
- Add Kerovee to the track in the fx bin
- Add a midi track (when I play notes, the input meter goes up and down)
- In Kerovee, make sure midi is on and tune to scale is off

This is where I am confused... Like I said above, I can control any Kerovee knob with my keyboard (midi keyboard) but the individual notes themselves do not control the pitch of Kerovee.

In the other thread (about using an expression pedal), the key was to turn automation lanes on, right click the vertical bar graph (then chose remote control) to chose what you want to use to control the automation. Also, clicking on clips->automation, allows you to chose what you want to automate. This is where I am confused. I can automate knobs but what do I chose to automate the pitch? Is it transpose?

Thanks for hanging in there. I know this has to be frustrating lol

That is so cool and helpful of you swamptooth.  I learned from watching your youtube training video even though I don't own this KeroVee vst.  You went beyound what was required and showed how helpful this forum can be.  Thanks for doing this!!!!

what's the old saying?? a picture's worth a thousand words... wonder what a video is worth.  i've found that just a quick video can mean a whole lot.  i got the idea from native-instruments tech support when i was having a problem with massive - the support guy asked if i could send a video showing the problem and that was a "duh" moment for me... it's good fun too and i've been learning a lot doing them!

Seriously, you guys are awesome!!! Thank you for taking the time to help me out.

I watched the video. That was perfect!!! I also liked the aquarium in the background. It was very soothing! lol

You guys were saying all the right things above, the part I was missing was that once you make kerovee and instrument, you add it as an instrument on an audio track. I should have made that step myself but for some reason had a mental block and felt I that could not be done.

Anyway, thank you again for taking the time for creating the video. It was clear and to the point and even I now understand what I need to do.

Thanks

Excellently done.

That is the way any midi controlled effect is done in Sonar.

LOL, I'd got halfway through writing a fully detailed explanation I clicked on the vid and realised I needn't go any further.
