Yep that's a possibility. I've just posted a further explanation of how the magnetic or intensity setting works in both X1 & X2 in another thread here

It's also possible that "snap to zero crossings" is active which may well drag the snap off a little. There are also the landmark settings as well which could also do that.

@Funkybot - I do take your point that it can be complex but I don't see that as a bad thing, with complexity comes power. In it's simplest form of Smart grid it's very easy. Turn it on and forget about it but there is much more there if needed. AFAIK they are all off by default though so shouldn't really affect a user unless they've turned them on.

Thanks everyone for trying so hard to help!

I got snap to work in the track view, but I still can't get it to work in the PRV.

I un-checked "Snap to Nearest Audio Zero Crossings", and snap worked correctly in the track view.

Still, in PRV, despite all my experimenting, the now marker goes wherever I click, instead of to the nearest snap position.

Is there a separate setting for PRV snap? I can only find one snap preferences window: Preferences -> Customization -> Snap to Grid.

Thanks,
Mike

There is a separate snap. Top right hand corner of the PRV. Click on the grid there and it'll open a pop out so you can set it up.

Having said that global should work if the PRV snap is off. Global needs to on as well for the PRV snap to work.

That fixed it, thanks! I didn't realize there was a separate snap in the PRV.
