hi again,
just to clear a few things up i do not want my tablet to power sonar my laptop or desktop in my house will power the software i just want a tablet that runs windows 7 i have seen a few but was wondering if anyone has used the program logmein to control sonar with a tablet, so i do not have to carry around a laptop all i really want to know is has anyone got a tablet and the program logmein or other variations and done this and does it work?
As logmein is just a controller that allows you to control the computer so basically it just sends the image on my desktop screen to my tablet and touch would be the mouse, i also have other softwares which would be perfect for making beats via a touchscreen but i do not want my tablet to power any software such as sonar as that is stupid at the moment plus it would probably fry the processor with heat

also preferrably not an apple product or ipad as i hate apple industry killers who are followed by mass flocks of sheep who have there eyes closed when it comes to real tech spec

While you wait for other brand mobile devices to do this kind of stuff and rage on Apple, their mobile devices already do all this stuff. Just saying. For instance the mobile version of GarageBand gives you 8 tracks to be used as midi or audio. The project can be available via iCloud in GarageBand on your computer without ever plugging in a cable. Also, Logic can open GarageBand songs. Many audio/midi interfaces available for apple mobile devices.

Just saying.

I'd love to see this kind of thing going on with other mobile devices but its not. The integration between apple products is top notch.

I have an ipad and "logmein ignition". I tried to control Sonar with it awhile back. Trying to control eq's and stuff was too jumpy to be really useful. I am looking forward the the "Pro" Surface tablets that will actually run programs like Sonar. It will really start to get interesting then.

Try ac7 as mentioned above. Worked great using an iPod Touch. Setup was kind of a pain.

Apple mobile device with ac7. Works good as a control surface for Sonar 7. I'm sure the are some control surface software for windows tablets. Or at least I would hope so.

I use logmein to fix my 82,000-year old mom's computer from asfar.  (I say asfar instead of afar, because I need to be ASFAR away as possible when dealing with her on computer things, or my head will explode.  LOVE her dearly, but she grew up when there were no speed limits and you had to add coloring cubes to boiling pots of margerine to make it look edible).

No issue there, nope, nuh uh.

I have a curious question - if you WERE to access your Sonar remotely through a tablet, using logmein or whatever, you would not be able to hear anything, as you are only in an emulated session where all output devices and such on her machine are just that - on HER machine.

That being the case, what would you hope to be DOING in Sonar remotely?

Just asking - no judgments or any of that sort of thing - I just don't readily see what the ability to do that would get you, in real terms of musical functionality.  I suppose you could use the technique to freak out your cat while you were out, by playing projects with audio tracks of squeaking mice and baby birds, but what practical things would you be able to do?
