Hey,

I'm looking at building a new DAW for X2.

What would you suggest be the minimum computer monitor screen size for X2 in a single-monitor setup?

Thanks.

I'm very satisfied with my Samsung 24" flat panel.

I have a 17" Samsung now and like it a lot, but bigger is better!

Do you know what model you have?

Make sure it as at least a 1920 x 1080 resolution and you'll be happy.

For whatever the worth, a nice brand new 32" HDTV can be purchased for $199, with several brands to choose from.

I am aging rapidly, and sometimes my eyes hang lower than my ex-wife's eh external gear.  I find the larger screen size to be quite helpful.

I later ended up purchasing a gigantic 46" HDTV and now use both displays.

It's really about how good your eyes are, how much you have available to spend, and how much room you have for putting a display somewhere.

I WILL say that bang for the buck, you can get a much bigger HDTV for way less than an equivalent actual computer monitor.  I find them to be quite adequate for display quality when using Sonar.

I was just today contemplating turning the 46" display on its side, and changing the layout to portrait, to see more vertical display - more tracks vertically and all.  The 32" display is used for displaying mainly the console, and I can drag other things over there if needed.

Hope that helps you,

I have a 24 Inch 1920 x 1080 which is adequate.

I don't see the point in going bigger than 24 Inch unless you can go beyond 1920 x 1080.  (unless of course you want to view from a distance)Some of the more expensive 27 inch monitors go to 2560 x 1440 which would be nice.

The last time I went shopping for a new monitor I was able to get a 23" and I am happy with it.....I did think about the HDTV thing but did not want to have to anchor a bracket into the wall just to hang that sucker......But I agree....with age comes blindness!

The next one will have to be a HDTV.....

i wouldnt settle for less than a 24" with 1920*1200 resolution for a single monitor.. taht extra height is really worth it.

and..given you have a17", put that to one side as screen #2 for your VST editor windows and u will be golden
