I'm gonna go out on a limb here, I thought the mix was pretty spot on. I really cranked it up and thought it sounded very 70's ish, with lots of guitar right up front. With a bit of compression on the drums (read snare), and the master bus, there could be a better overall balance between the lead and the rhythm, which could make it sound more modern, but I think it's very close as is.

To my ears the mix sounded good. Just very quiet. The drums do need some care and love though, as they are they sound flat and not overly realistic. Good solid gt work. :)

Thanks again, I'm checking out stevec's link on basics for DAW, I just not sure when someone refers to adding compression to the drums and master bus what they mean. But sounds like good advice so I'm going there. Its just I hate having to read a manual before I break something (backwards logic).
I need a good drum sw, any suggestions? I have tried using two fingers as sticks playing keys using a couple different percussion sw but found that I not only had no singing voice, but no rythem either. And the library sets didn't suit my stlye.
What has humbled me is the nice compliments on my guitar, which I know is not flashy, smooth and not always exactly on key (which is intentional sometimes like Hendrix and Trower) Constructive critisim this forum provides puts a lot of ears and knowledge on your work, so as a longtime beginner I test what I understand, and struggle with terms, hints or advice on those I'm not familiar with. My wife says I ought to get one of those special guitars for short finger people, when I realised she was refering to a ukalalee I asked her, "ever wonder how many groupies in the past chased after the lead ukalalee player after a concert?" went right over her head. And besides Hendrix would been in extreme danger as ukalalee's are very flamable. ok I'll stop. no progress yet on redo of drum-bass track. cap

Just realized the re-mix version of Sorrow Jam was not being uploaded in SoundCLick. I deleted and re-mix is now uploaded. Also, I could not upload anything to SoundCloud, anyone else having problems? cap
Got some education on applying compression and rms levels - it did go in one ear..... but don't know where it went after that

the overall mix i think sounds great, it's just the volume is low. i'm kinda going around listening to a bunch of people's stuff this morning and it's noticeably lower than anyone else's. that being said it sounds really cool.

I must have listened to an improved version as this mix seemed pretty decent to me. You could make it hotter but it wasn't really necessary from my end. Nice instrumental!

Hmm would like to hear the version with vocals.

Seen the man play this a number of time live not heard the same lead twice same hooks.

thanks Starise
Wookiee-man I wish I could sing, it would give another dimension to my music. my soundcloud page has my brother's version of "Sorrow" with his first attempt at singing and wasn't too bad, but his guitar work was a near copy of Gilmour, as is his version of Gilmour's "Raise my Rent", guitar lead starting at the 1:05 mark. This lead and lead in "Another Brick in the Wall" are my all time favorite guitar leads. I envy you seeing this guy play live.
