When Steve Miller was inducted, he was given just two tickets, one for himself and one for his wife. He was told that if the rest of the band, and their wives, wanted to attend it would cost them $10,000 apiece. The article does not say whether any of them ponied up.

Now we know why every performance features Bruce Springsteen: he can afford the admission.

What if he doesn't want to take his wife?  Can he sell his other ticket?

The Sex Pistols when inducted declined to pay their own expenses.

I read that Steve Miller comment the other day. I have to agree with him 100%....the whole Rock n Fall Hall of enterprise has been run so badly for so long that it has no credibility, it's almost a Grammy Awards level waste of time, money and bandwidth. Especially when it comes to guys like The Steve Miller Band who are standard bearers in Pop and rock.

When you look at the News Media, 95% of network and cable television, radio....the internet new organizations and general NET garbage, makes you ponder what kind of insulate dweebs get to positions as producers and managers in these organizations.

Here's the complete list of inductees: https://rockhall.com/inductees/

If you have any doubt that it's more of a popularity contest than recognition of musical contributions, note the recent public argument between Ice Cube and Gene Simmons.

Simmons started the fight by questioning whether hip-hop should be included. Ice Cube stated during N.W.A.'s induction that "you goddamn right we rock ‘n’ roll", saying that hip-hop deserves to be represented because it preceded rock 'n roll (a historically dubious claim). Simmons shot back with "Let me know when Jimi Hendrix gets into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame. Then you'll have a point."

Are The Beatles the only group where ALL the members were inducted both as a group and solo?

Looks like.

I love popularity contests.

Sadly, I've never been in one though.

Hey brother can you spare $10,000.00?

Sorry, had to use it to pay my ticket (impersonating a musician)...

Note that this video's #1 gripe has since been addressed. But it's still a very short list considering all the other greats that have also been snubbed. No Jethro Tull? Really? How about ELP and ELO? And yet ABBA got the nod, as well as Madonna. There is definitely a Top-40 bias.
