I just need to ****. While attempting to rename one of my stereo buses to "BUS Drum Comp" I didn't realize the label field was not in the edit state and began typing. I stopped typing when the insert marker dialog popped up. Up to that point I had typed:
shift+B - show/hide bus pane
shift+U - unassigned
shift+S - unassigned
space - start playback
shift+D - maximize view
r - record
u - unassigned
m - insert marker

I assume all my typing turned inot shortcuts. All those key shortcuts seem pretty harmless. However, all of my tracks but one have disappeared from the track and console view. The auto-save version has the same corruption :-(

It looks like I have to go back to my last saved project version which is about 8 hours ago. Lesson learned - save often and don't rely on auto-save. I've been using Sonar for 25+ years and don't recall having such a disastrous 2 days!

If anyone can explain what happened, I'd appreciate it. Maybe the key bindings have different meanings depending on the view you're in??? I can't see a key combination that would cause this level of destruction. What ever happened to "Are you sure? Enter Y or N" LOL!

Why didn't you just scroll back thought your UNDO menu CTRL Z
You can go way back untill you close the project.

Cuz I'm getting old and stupid! Problem solved nayway - the tracks were all hidden. I reactivated them in the track manager...

Thanks for letting me waste your time. Sorry.

If you lost audio recordings - the data of the audiofiles must be in the audiofolder. But its very complicated to restore them to the current project.

To avoid all this problems in the future:
Enable versioning of projects. I set this to 999. So you have a lot of backup-steps. And dont forget to make "daily" backups from all projects to an external disc. Thet must be a software that makes backups automated. Before special operations make a "manually" backup.

Don't feel bad about that one... I just did somthing just like it when I reached over to move something and put my big fat elbow on my keyboard,,,, all h3ll broke lose. I figured I was done for .. but undo goes way way back.
And the hidden tracks is another one I'm sure we've all been caught out on.
The sure sign is you look and notice there's no track 5 or?
Keyboard shortcuts are great but they should all be multi keystrokes IMHO, all but R and W

I've done this myself. Like all have said...sometimes these things get everyone. I've been a member of the save often and versions club for a long while.

Could someone please mark this "solved"?
