Are we not mostly adults around here? My teenage granddaughters use words I am likely to not use.

But the F word is appropriate here.  X2 has some great stuff. But and more stuff seemingly arbitrarily removed, and::::

Of all the things in this world that are actually offensive the "F word" is not even on the list.  I can't account for other people's priorities.

No! This is absurd. This is clearly in violation of the TOS. That should not be the reason for one to be careful with what words are used but it is a good reason. What you fail to understand is we have members that are under 12 and its an open forum allowing anyone to read it.

You have read posts on this thread that object to the word you have used that should be more than enough to reconsider its use. You are showing a total disregard for your fellow forum members.

There are many words that will express your displeasure such as "messed up" or "screwed" or "destroyed" that will not hold the same repugnance to others.

The word you chose is not only profanity but is a vulgarism that is highly unbecoming of you and is unrepresentative of this forum.

Please change it ASAP.

Are you serious?.. it is obnoxious, offensive and disgusting to use language like that in (what is usually) a considerate and responsible forum...

Yeah, if you want to use language like that, there are plenty of other forums out there that will let you say EXACTLY what you're thinking in full, uncensored, unexpurgated language.

I rarely use this word aloud.

I do not like to hear it, generally.

I do not like reading it where children will see it.

In this case the word is not actually spelled. Yet most know what word was/is intended.

This word has been used for centuries, by hundreds of millions (prolly billions) of humans, in thousands of ways, and with thousands of meanings.

I am of the 60's generation when it was thought the prohibition againt the public use of such words was a part of the absurd "double standards" that could be observed everywhere: race, gender, clothing,...

I am always sad to hear it used to mean something bad. Cuz it is at origin, a word that describes a behavior I find most pleasurable.

But, it is clear, in this culture, we do not speak of such physical actions.

TV is full of true graphic dismemberment, stories of anguish and insanity. Yet we cannot even use the words to describe, let alone observe, humans actually engaged in what is one of the most essential of human behaviors.

I prefer "swear" words were less used.

But,....

X2: So how do I change midi note offset while the transport is engaged?
Using the event lump does not seem to do so while playing, only when stopped.
What am I doing wrong?

Language and pleasurable aside....

Before I left for work today I tried a quick test using the Transpose MXF.   With the dialog open, double-click the Offset field, use the +/- keys to shift up or down and Enter to select the desired key.   Repeat as needed.

I know it's not what the OP was looking for, but it does use a similar key combo so perhaps it'll work for now.

The news is full of such things as well and it is not considered obscene.  When such things are considered OK for public display and are indeed a multi-billion dollar industry, I question the values of people who feel in some way harmed by by my merely alluding to a word.  However, it is fine with me if they wish to feel that way.  Cakewalk can even remove this post if they wish.  I think the title is appropriate.

The fact this guy is douchey enough not to concede that it's inappropriate speaks volume. I use the f-word plenty, but most of us have enough common decency and common sense to know when it's inappropriate. I have directed clergy members to this site for help with Sonar products with the assumption that most content is g-rated. I understand that humans are hypocritical creatures, but as long as we have the understanding that most of us don't drop words considered offensive by the vast majority in public forums, it works for us, despite the silliness of giving words that much power.

I'm with John on this. Not appropriate at all.

And you feel that " douchey" is not offensive?

this is classic douchey behavior. It's like dealing with my children. When they are called on their inappropriate behavior, their reaction is to point fingers at what the other did to shift the convo from their own actions. When a child does it, it's childish. When an adult does it, it's douchey. Unlike you, I can freely admit the term may not be acceptable. I'm not sure. My yardstick is typically , if one can say the word on broadcast tv or broadcast radio, it's pushing it but deemed acceptable by enough of society not to draw a fine. in no part of the country is it acceptable to say the f-word in public media legally accessible to children without drawing a fine, scorn or both.
