and let's just say that that "douchey" was held to the same standard as the f-word (which you know it is not), that still leaves you in the position of justifying your actions with the 7 year old like response of "but mom, nevermind what i did, this is what he did".

The fact this guy is douchey enough not to concede that it's inappropriate speaks volume. I use the f-word plenty, but most of us have enough common decency and common sense to know when it's inappropriate. I have directed clergy members to this site for help with Sonar products with the assumption that most content is g-rated. I understand that humans are hypocritical creatures, but as long as we have the understanding that most of us don't drop words considered offensive by the vast majority in public forums, it works for us, despite the silliness of giving words that much power.

This is simply an excellent post.  Deeply thought out.  I couldn't agree more. Being an Ex GI I know a few words myself.

I do not want CW to change it even though they have every right to do so. I want Vintage to do it voluntarily because the forum has asked.

So...  did you have a chance to try the Transpose MXF?   Just curious whether it "felt" any better from a key combo angle.

I've used that before but it's still more keystrokes to add the MFX.  I can live with the new methods learned in this thread for octave up/down but the worst part is having no way to group it.  I audition different keys quite a lot and all of the workarounds for grouping are error prone and cumbersome.  IMO the function was broken in X1 and seriously need to be fixed.  I can see no reason for this widget to behave differently from the other similar widgets other than is was inadvertently broken.

Cool, I was just curious.

You really don't need to title a thread like this..   You are not, "cakewalks only customer."   And you should have more respect for:

A. Cakewalk
B.  Other customers using the software with zero problems.

Although I do not feel comfortable with these words, i do not find them offensive.

Which can be found in anything by the ignorant.

Words drive primitives to make others explode.

Stupid but true.  Hence we must be careful, cuz it is not always possible to identify the idiots before they behave badly.

Where's judge Roy Bean when he is most needed?

In X1 they removed the ability to quick-group Key +/- making it a nightmare to try different keys for a singer.  So now in X2 they remove the ability to click and enter a number with your keypad.  Oh, but they didn't stop there.  Now it's a slider that goes to + or - 127 semitones!   (that's really usable)   How could it be worse you ask?  They also changed the brackets ([]) function to go in increments 8 semitones instead of an octave!

I suppose it makes sense in a way.  They don't believe anyone needs notation so who needs silly things like octaves and key changes.  Just grab a different loop.

Why not use process-->transpose? Wouldn't that be the easiest way anyway? Even in 8.5 an earlier it was a menu command not a quick group.

That's what I do. Works fine.

The problem with that is that it's destructive and after you changed a few times it's very difficult to get back to where you were if what you are doing is auditioning different keys.
