That is correct.
There was a patch to Rapture prior to X2 that brought it to v1.2.2. That patch is the one dtd 7/13/2010 http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013167 . That is NOT a complete version of Rapture and the installation guide makes that clear.
There is a "patch" to X2 that is a full Rapture 1.2.2 installer. That is the one referenced in http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013294
The former is a patch to Rapture, the later is a patch to X2 that happens to be a full Rapture 1.2.2 installer.
If you owned Rapture prior to X2 and failed to keep it current, you have to decide for yourself if it is worth patching the old version to 1.2.2 or have that version deleted should you install the version included with X2.
Well........I can still see this being a bit fuzzy for others.........
However, I do know that:
1. When I was having issues with Rapture with 8.5.3 producer I worked with a cake tech on the phone one day, I ended up deleting all traces of Rapture and
started a fresh install with this "Patch" install reference here
http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013167 It installed the full version for me.....( Just for the record I bought the full version a long time ago anyway) but this new patch install of this worked fine after that....

Now with the X2 "
Patch" (
http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013294) you are refering to (if I am understanding you correctly)
I think that you are saying it is a
Patch for "X2" (
not a Patch for Rapture) which will correctly install the full version of Rapture
into your existing version of X2.
The idea is to
first install X2 (I have Producer) with a custom installation only skip (or do not choose) to do the install of Rapture (with this installation).
(
At this point I would do my authorizing of X2.)
Then Apply the X2 Patch which will install the full version of Rapture correctly into "X2".
I believe that I am going to do my install this way.
