I'm having maybe the same issues. I don't have any advice but, keep in mind that if you are "upgrading" Rapture or DimPro from their original dxi versions that any information, such as what patch you have loaded in a project, will dissappear so that you won't know what patch to load in the 'new' rapture. So, best to freeze the synths or make extensive notes.

That is correct.

There was a patch to Rapture prior to X2 that brought it to v1.2.2. That patch is the one dtd 7/13/2010 http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013167 . That is NOT a complete version of Rapture and the installation guide makes that clear.

There is a "patch" to X2 that is a full Rapture 1.2.2 installer. That is the one referenced in http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013294

The former is a patch to Rapture, the later is a patch to X2 that happens to be a full Rapture 1.2.2 installer.

If you owned Rapture prior to X2 and failed to keep it current, you have to decide for yourself if it is worth patching the old version to 1.2.2 or have that version deleted should you install the version included with X2.

Well........I can still see this being a bit fuzzy for others.........

However, I do know that:
1. When I was having issues with Rapture with 8.5.3 producer I worked with a cake tech on the phone one day, I ended up deleting all traces of Rapture and started a fresh install with this "Patch" install reference here http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013167  It installed the full version for me.....( Just for the record I bought the full version a long time ago anyway) but this new patch install of this worked fine after that....

*****************************************************************************************

Now with the X2 "Patch" (http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013294) you are refering to (if I am understanding you correctly)

I think that you are saying it is a Patch for "X2"  (not a Patch for Rapture) which will correctly install the full version of Rapture into your existing version of X2.

The idea is to first install X2 (I have Producer) with a custom installation only skip (or do not choose) to do the install of Rapture (with this installation).

(At this point I would do my authorizing of X2.)

Then Apply the X2 Patch which will install the full version of Rapture correctly into "X2".

I believe that I am going to do my install this way.

I did the X2 install but haven't gotten around to the rapture install yet.

I still have it from X1 that is still installed and it works in X2.

So there is nothing new to rapture with the X2 install?

not that I know of.

The only reason I want to redo my Rapture install is because I had to do a fiddly kind of round the block type of install to make it work and I just would like to have a cleaner install and have it sit in the program like it should.....otherwise I would leave it alone......

Also For me DimPro is working extremely well so I am just going to leave that alone for my X2 installation.
