I just had the weirdest thing. I could not load some audio clips.
They were large and I saw the load progress flash by in the Control window, but no clip loaded. The audio file was copied to the Audio folder in the project.

Finally figured it out - it was the option in Audio Data preferences - 'Always load Broadcast Waves at their Timestamp'.

I never knew what that meant till now.

Broadcast wave files have info embedded into them and they will go to where that info tells them to go. 

So you need to scroll way out of your project is some cases to see the newly loaded clips.

Yup, I've had the same thing happen - there's the clip, about ten minutes in along the timeline, right where it's supposed to be...   
 
 
Edit: I meant to add...   and when the project is only three minutes long the clip really looks as though it never made it into the project.

I guess that was it, I didn't have Fit to Project set on the timeline/project, and I was just looking at 20 measures.


Anyway, I don't know why I ever had that option set. It's now off.

Cool beans.   It's always good to learn another feature!
