X3: Is there a way to permanently resize the Kontakt GUI so it always shows at the taller size that I'd like?
I'd like to have more space in the place where the instruments get stacked up after loading them.
I'd call it the large black window when nothing is loaded, to the right of the libraries browser.
There's nothing showing in Plugin properties that I can see.

That's a Kontakt preference. Go into options and look for display size.

There is no "Display Size" in options that I can see. There's an "Interface" tab but only a "Reset Size" button,
which, as far as I know, is meant to take care of issues with small resolution displays and when one can't get to the bottom right corner.

I'd love it if you could be much more specific and tell me exactly where it is, or tell me that you're just guessing and really don't know, if that's the case.

It's a little quirky the way it seems to work.  if you go into Kontakt standalone and then drag the lower-right hand corner, then exit, it seems to save the setting for the plugin... BUT... for some reason I had to do it twice to get it to stick. 
 
Didn't seem to work the first time, but it seemed to hold the setting after doing it twice.  (Maybe I just left something out the first time, and maybe you have to exit the standalone and go back in for Kontakt standalone a second time to remember it's default setting, and then go in as plugin.  Not really exactly sure, but I got it to work now and I've tried it a couple of times to be sure it always opens up in the larger size.

UPDATE:
Genghis! That's it. It worked. The trick seems to be to not 'expect' the mouse pointer to change because it doesn't
and also to grab onto the 3 45 degree slash marks and pull it.
Doing the stand alone didn't translate to the plugin, but the plugin is easily resized by grabbing it in the same place.
And the "Reset Size" button, under Options > Interface ... resets the GUI size back to normal.

I am new into this DAW trick  I am trying to bring KONTAKT 5 into sonar X3 professional. without succeeding.
If it is a drag and drop you drag what to where ?

I'm assuming you've installed K5 and that you've scanned for new plugins or that X3 is auto scanning.
So
Hit B to open the Browser
Choose the tab that is for soft synths
hit the big + sign at the top to add and a synth then browse the menu.
There should be 3 Kontakt 5 in the list.
 
K5 comes in 3 configurations based on how many outputs each config. has.
4, 8 and 16
but
the name on all of them is the same by default
so eventually you need to rename them is the vst list unless you can figure it out the other way.

You can't add more outputs to the 4 and the 8 so I just removed them and always use the 16 out version.

That should get you started.

There are also plenty of youtube videos about Kontakt 5 so if you want to get the most out of it have a look.
