Hi. Can somebody help me with this please... I know topic came up a few years back: Copying an effect from one track to another....
Answer was: "Ctrl" on your keyboard while dragging......
in my case it is a bit different, as I am using a tablet and onscreen keyboard complicates things with shortcut techniques.
I know that for newly made tracks I can "Duplicate" effects and properties, what about just copy effects(with effects settings) from one track to another? I know about the workaround with creating effects send busses and routing two or more tracks to SAME fx, but it is NOT what I want.

Is there a way to simply copy effects and paste it to another track without keyboard. (I have mouse attached, if helps;)

Thank you.

If they are in pro channel, you can save it then import it. Not what you want, I know.

Use Windows OSK?

OSK takes half of the screen ;) possible but very inconvienent.

Just not sure why they removed option of right click / copy&paste. Or something even simpler. The advertise this as touch friendly... Sonar home or such are miles away from Cubasis app for ipad. Cubasis made the version where everything is VERY touch friendly almost 5 years ago. I found it complicated of doing mobile studio setup between ipad and pc, so I switched to Sonar as I have many tracks in CWB format from many years that are important to me.

I like the current stability of Sonar, but their "touch friendly" thing is like a bad, distasteful joke. They are using advantage of people to advertise it as such, who never tried a daw with true touch capabilities (like Cubasis for ipad). I am not promoting Cubasis... I stopped using it.., but anyone who have tried it would know exactly what I am talking about. I am concerned, as future is about Touch based interfaces and Sonar is just not there (yet.....)

Sorry for long writeup;) I thought that touch subject is relevant in shortcut/action (copy/paste) topic

Yeah, I hear you - I never said it was a great solution, plus I always tend to think in the terms that everyone has multi screen set-ups these days so that it could just be left open in an out of the way area. Never felt the love for touch screen pc's myself - seeing everything through a haze of fingermarks just doesn't seem all that appealing to me.

Well, for mobile studios, it must be implemented (good touch controls)
That is what Cubase done.  Solid mobile app and solid full scaled DAW with ability to work on same projects on both setups. I am not a fanboy of Cubase, but maybe Sonar team should learn about some very good points from the enemy :)

I finally found the perfect interface for my mobile setup which is Arturia Audiofuse. It works like a charm with Surface Pro i7 (Win 10) for "on the go" studio. It sucks when you have great hardware, but software is just not there yet.
My 3 cents is that Sonar does not have a good (enough staffed) team for mobile development, that is why mobile features are half baked.

Coming back to original question.... I guess there is no command in menus that I could go into (using mouse) to copy and paste effects from one track to another?

Thank you.

As paulo suggested I tried using Windows OSK (On screen keyboard) pressing CTL while dragging FX to another track... It did not work (did not copy). It just dragged FX from one track to another. Is there a secret way to copy FX to another track?

P.S. Greg Hendershott is probably smiling.

I agree that touch is underdeveloped in SONAR. I think they've been putting their efforts into physical controllers, like the Pen and Dial. Once those are squared away, maybe dev will do some more touch improvements.

I have a usb keyboard in storage boxes somewhere... Before I try to find it, can somebody please confirm that by pressing CTRL while dragging FX to another track copies it, not just drags it?
