  • One of Those Same Old 32/64-Bit Questions about Plug-ins and X3

I'm certain this has been asked and answered a hundred times over BUT.. as I'm finding it difficult to locate anything definitive I'll ask it again.
After doggedly sticking with Vista and using older 32 bit versions of Sonar for years I've finally bit the bullet and installed X3. Still hanging onto Vista though as I am an old man frightened by change and the new :)
Is there a way to replace 32 bit VST plugins with 64 bit versions within projects without doing it manually? Ideally I'd love to be able to migrate the same settings over but I might be hoping for too much.
Secondly and similarly, when a VST comes up as missing in X3 is there a shortcut to simply replace it with another as the project loads? If not, WHY NOT Cakewalk!?!
Essentially I'm lazy and really dont want to take days replacing plugs in a myriad of projects.
Thanks in anticipation and Cheers!

I'm not sure, but I doubt it. If there isn't, you can have both 32-bit and 64-bit versions installed, but you will need to install both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of any Cakewalk plug-ins you want to use in both. Strangely, from what I recall, Sonar X3 64-bit can load many third party 32-bit plug-ins, but not their own (with some exceptions).

I don't think there is, but great idea!
