I am one of the many that stayed at version 8.5.3 scared off of the X1 update by the chaos that seemed to ensue when it was released.  Well I figured Cake would make it right and slowly they did but by the time I was ready to step up with confidence, I saw that X2 was getting ready to drop.   So I jumped right to X2 having never played with X1 at all.  I have a few hours in with it, Remixing 8.5 projects and it has been cool!

With exception of 1 crash in a project that crashed notoriously even in 8.5.3 (I think it was some combination of plug-ins as it is one of the only songs I had with Perfect Space, &/or the tube leveler plug).  I deleted these and had no more problems.

I like the pro Channel concept.  Very cool, I am not sure I like the 2 compressors available in it and I tend to go back to the sonitus comp more often than not.  I just don't seem to be able to dial it in the same.

The new EQ that is in prochannel is is nice though I find some differences in behavior from the sonitus EQ in each track in 8.5.3    It seems to me if I Hp a kick for instance at 40hz  with a Q of 1.6 in the older EQ it has more beef to it than if I use the same parameters in the new EQ and I find myself bringing that down closer to 23-30 Hz to sound similar to my ear.

I know I am just playing at the surface right now & will dig in with a new project from scratch soon,  But so far is seems pretty stable, most is familiar, & what isn't seems fairly intuitive to me so I am happy with my choice to upgrade at this point in time.   You guys (the bakers) catch enough crap from unhappy folks when often it is a system problem or complications out of your control so I wanted to write and say thank you for the work you have put in here.  Nice job.

PS.  I noticed the CPU % is no longer displayed?  Where can I find that?  I am just curious how it compares.

If you click on the top left sonor X2 you will get a dropdown menu. Here you can select performance module. This has the cpu and the drive.
