1)Can you still rearrange buses?  It used to be you could grab and drag them to whatever order you wanted, that doesn't seem to work the same.  How do you do it?

2) I played around with the screen sets & while cool, most are not (at this point) going to fit my workflow so I'll stick to tracking in the track view & mixing in console view. However, I Saw some pics on here where while in track view there was a window (I assume utilizing the multi-dock) to the left showing the console type view but only for the track selected, some pics have the pro channel there instead.  That could be useful.  How do I set that up guys?

1. You move busses just like you do tracks; it's pretty much the same as you do in earlier versions of Sonar.  Click on the small bus icon just left of the bus name field; then drag the bus in whichever direction you choose.  You'll see a light blue line showing you where you're moving the bus to.  When you find the right spot, let the mouse go and the bus will move.  In Console mode, you Alt-click the bus just about anywhere blank; the entire bus will be outlined in red.  Move it wherever you like.

2. That's the Track Inspector, which you open by pressing the letter I or clicking Views|Inspector.

Welcome to X!

Thank you Magbass!
Your advice was on the money bud, I appreciate it!

For the record...  In console view in 8.5  you didn't need to ALT-Click the bus or track to move it, ya just grab & drag.  That's what threw me off there.

Did you try moving the mouse across the bus/track header. The mouse icon changes to a vertical bar with an arrow pointing up and down. That is where you can grab&drag, at least that works in X1, don't have X2 installed yet.

You're right about the Alt-clicking; that's new.  @Scook's way works too, but I found it a little fiddly (couldn't always get the double-headed arrow easily), so I didn't mention it.

My pleasure to help.  Enjoy!

Hi ChuckC

Screensets can be really useful depending on your work flow. In their most simple use if you find yourself rearranging the layout of your workspace a lot chances are you'll find a screenset useful.

Having said that for just jumping from console view to track view the multidock is great, just pressing D will show or hide that.

One example where a screenset can come in handy for mixing is if you use a lot of busses. Set up the console view in one screenset with just tracks visible copy it to another screenset, hide all tracks and show only busses so you now have two screensets one console view track only, one console view busses only. Of course that can be mirrored in the track view as well.

Switch between them as required, very fast and easy to do.....

Here endeth the screenset sales pitch....

Hey Karl, Yeah I can see where that would help, and yes over time I have learned to use more buses than a public school! haha to me it's a great way to break a mix down in segments I can then concentrate on individually. I am sure I will give the screensets more time and consideration, but thank you for pointing out some usefulness to having them sir!
